Cambodia, Vietnam to commence land transportation along border on Saturday
Cambodia and Vietnam would officially start to transport goods and passengers by vehicles between the two countries on Sept. 30, 2006, the Cambodian News Agency said on Friday.
For the start, both sides plan to directly transport goods with 20 trucks and passengers with 20 buses through the Baveth-Mocbai border crossing on Saturday, the agency quoted Eung Chunhuor, senior official at the Ministry of Transport and Public Works.
Cambodia and Vietnam are scheduled to increase the number of vehicles and buses that will pass through more crossings along their border to meet the increasing demands of the two countries, he added.
Cambodia and Vietnam on Wednesday kicked off their joint operation to install markers to precisely define their 1,270 km- long land border. Both sides plan to set up 353 border markers, and the work is expected to be finished in 2008.
The Cambodian-Vietnamese border was closed for years due to lack of markers and other problems of bilateral ties. Transportation across the border was conducted privately and not recognized by the government.

because of the border has been closed for years, that's why they are illegal.
the border crossing were/are controlled by ah pouk Youns. Remember approx 5 months ago, the Youns soldier crossed the boundary to shoot a Khmer farmer, now it would be OK if the farmers were Youns and came to Khmer side to claim a piece of land (land grabbing crisis continue).
Anonymous 12:23PM, You are implying that Khmers are just plain dumb. If you're not with us, you are blank, blank.
Don't talk too much on the net. I won't solve the problem between Hun Sen regime and Cambodian people. Cambodian people need to rise up and start a new revolution like in Thailand, Iraq, and Afganistan now. Otherwise, the world won't see any problem in Cambodia. The people need to solve your own problem to dissolve this regime and the king. Otherwise, Cambodia will take over by Ah Youn and become lawless. No respect to one another, land of corrupt, land of killing, land of mafia, land of controlling by one man and his gangs.
I can't believe what I am reading! The Chinese News (Xinhua) are trying to cover up the Vietcong aggression on Cambodia!
Since the Vietcong invasion of Cambodia in 1979 and up to 2006!, Cambodia and Vietname are one country! The border between the country are so open and porous! This is the reason why Cambodia have million and million of illegal Vietnamese in Cambodia for many years.
It is very important to note that during the border ceremony at Bavet(Cambodia)- Moc Bai(Vietname), the cellular phone signals were cut off completely and Cambodian people who were living along the border are prevented from joining the ceremony for out of fear they might talk to the media. Only the Thai ambassador show up for the border markers ceremony from all the foreign countries!
The word "Moc Bai" in Vietnamese language means install the markers and kick out!
Folk! The Vietcong are trying to show the world for the first time that they are invading Cambodia legally with 20 buses of Vietnamese and 20 trucks with goods! ahahah! Don't let the number of buses and trucks fool you! The Vietcong will increase the flow of Vietnamese people into Cambodia and then increase the demand of goods and services! Cambodian people are just too poor to buy anything from Vietname.
The Vietcong aggression is on the move! Is Cambodian leaders still still sleeping with Vietnamese hookers? Please wake up! Please wake up! Wake up! This is not a dream!
