Khmer Intelligence News - 5 October 2006

5 October 2006

A new option for royal politicians (2)

Some members of the Cambodian royal family, especially Funcinpec leaders who are disillusioned with Prince Norodom Ranariddh's statesmanship, are seriously considering a CPP's informal offer to withdraw from politics in exchange for a new status that would include the preservation of their existing titles and privileges, honorary positions in the social and humanitarian sphere, judicial immunity and a comfortable pension. Cambodia is currently the world's only constitutional monarchy where royals are involved in politics.

Another inter-CPP marriage (2)

At the end of this month, a son of Deputy Prime Minister Sok An's will marry the daughter of Commerce Minister Cham Prasidh.

Kem Sokha to form political party (2)

On 3 October 2006, Khmer-language newspaper Rasmei Kampuchea published an article titled "Internal report says Mr. Kem Sokha really intends to create a political party". The embattled president of the Cambodian Center for Human Rights (CCHR), which is in the midst of a corruption scandal, will be forced to take up a new job because of donors' disappointment about his honesty. He is preparing the launch of a new political party by criticizing all the existing parties in his foreign-financed public forums on human rights. Sixteen former CCHR employees are filing a lawsuit against Kem Sokha to denounce his corruption and nepotism. Tricks used for embezzlements are detailed in the employees' report.
Rasmei Kampuchea's article is here.
Summary of the internal report in English is here.
Full internal report in Khmer is here.

Why Cambodian leaders start the hype about the royal family members in politics?

Remove them from political arena is a violation of human rights.

If they royalists remained in politics, they ought to be treated equally on the same level of playing field, that including usage of Khmer language with them, not royal terms.

Why KI media likes to post Rasmei Kampuchea's anti-Kem Sokha reports when we all know Rasmei Kampuchea is a CPP's newspaper? If you treat Rasmei Kampuchea as a neutral newspaper, why don't you post anti-SRP reports from Rasmei Kampuchea too?

Why KI Media exaggerates those CPP's reports on Kem Sokha by adding more negative opinions, made by KI Media, on top of the ones actually published on the newspaper?

That's right it is because KI Media is a so-called news medium created by SRP.

And why SRP is attempting to destroy Kem Sokha? We thought only the CPP would create false information and reporting to attack its opponents. Is SRP just as bad? Does SRP lack integrity and need to use lies to make these attacks?

That's right, there are no dirts on Kem Sokha. To attack him, the CPP and SRP need to create lies.

KI Media is dedicated to publish sensitive information, correct? Here's one for you: Kith Meng, a nortorious business man that does all business with Hun Sen, gave a truck and about $20,000 to Sam Rainsy when he first returned to Cambodia after his self-exile.

Post that.

Maybe only Rasmei Kampuchea dare to cover all issues related to Mr. Kem Sokha. I don't see any reason why any pro-Sam Rainsy newspaper would want to cover any bad thing about Mr.Kem Sokha, otherwise, it would be seen as attacking another democratic institution such CCHR. KI Media team have the right to insert any opinion anyway they wanted! I am sure most Cambodian people are smart enough to separate between the propaganda or the truth on any issues!

Beside if any of Cambodian people who had journalism class in high school or college, there are always bias in every newspaper around the world not just Cambodian newspapers! The editors of the newspaper have the right to pick and choose any issues or topics as long as the newspapers can make money to stay in the business for many more years to come!

There are some other Cambodian newspaper pick up on Mr. Kem Sokha corruption story before and this is not the first time! To me, this is just abunch of old recycle news! Don't you get it! It is all old stuff and this is happen when people ran out of what to write and so they resort to recycle old news! ahahahah! But I must say in the past, Mr. Kem Sokha had denied that he was forming a political party but according to this latest news from KI media, Mr. Kem Sokha is taking step to form a political party! I believe it!

You need to have a larger network. So you can reach many of us!Meaning you have to get your act together,if you want to drive that Last Ape Emperor of Cambodia out of Cambodia in 2008!

You all need to serously thinking about getting together, including the royal Family, if The royal family are seriously enough or wanting to join and help out.

Please see that The great Big America only have two ( 2 ) parties, 2 parties only and that one is A Democratic and one is A Republican. No other! No communist party and no strange party! American doesn't know strange party you and American don't go to vote for strange party and those suckers loose!. The same should goes with us! and I pray to God that all of you My dear Big Brothers out there will put enough muscles together and be able to get your act together to become one party.

The fact that apparent supporters of the SRP are joining with the CPP in its campaign of lies against Kem Sokha suggests the possibility that if Sam Rainsy ever gets power, he'll be just like the rest of the scum that's lorded it over Cambodia. So listen up Mr. Rainsy! You either disown this smear campaign against Kem Sokha, or be prepared to receive the same.

The person that said, "There are too many chiefs and not enough indians out there," you are right.

Cambodia has the most bloated ranks of generals in the armed forces than any other countries in the world.

And those generals don't dare to challenge Hun Sen because they bought their stars (and stripes) to where they are.

It is worse than the Khmer Republic. Is Cambodia of today more corrupt than then?

How many Lords (Oknhas) are there now in the Kingdom? Are those Lords Khmers or foreigners. Do they serve the Khmer interests or their country of origin?

The new leader of Cambodia will have to fully fix those problems in the post-Hun Sen regime.

It's like, "The Day After Tomorrow," the movie or something like for Cambodia. The Hun Sen regime and clique degrade Cambodia and her citizens.

CAMBODIA: KING OR WITHOUT KING, NO DIFFERENCE.

When there is king, French colonialists used them as puppet.

When there is no king, communists used the lay people as puppets.

When there is king, Cambodia loses lands (territories).

Where is lay people ruler, Cambodia gave away land to foreigners.

There is no difference.
