The Office of the Spokesman of the FUNCINPEC party has the honor to inform national and international media that the Extraordinary Congress of the FUNCINPEC party held at its headquarters on October 18, 2006, unanimously approved the amendment of its By-Laws and internal regulations, and reformed its structure and party's Logo as follows:
1. Samdech Krom Preah NORODOM RANARIDDH was approved by the Extraordinary Congress of the FUNCINPEC party as the Historic Leader.
2. The selection of the FUNCINPEC leadership for a five-years mandate is:
2.1 Sahachivin (Active member) KEO PUTH RASMEY is elected as the President.
2.2 Sahachivin LU LAY SRENG as the First-Vice President.
2.3 His Royal Highness Prince Sisowath Sirirath as the Second-Vice President.
2.4 Sahachivin NHEK BUN CHHAY as the Secretary-General.
3. The enlargement of the membership of the FUNCINPEC party's National Council to at least 600 members - including additional members of the party's Commune (Sangkhat Council).
4. The enlargement of the membership of the party's Steering Committee to the minimum of 53 members.
5. The party's Logo and Flag is preserved, except the portrait of Samdech Krom Preah NORODOM RANARIDDH which was approved by the Extraordinary Congress for its removal.
6. Keeping the party's Headquarters (at the present location) on No. 11, Moha vithei Phrea Monivong, Sangkhat Chras Chok, Khan Don Penh. Phnom Penh.
