One Sam Rainsy Party Member of Parliament has accused that an Air Force base belonging to the Air Defense troop located in Phnom Penh, had been turned into an illegal gambling parlor.

MP Son Chhay sent a letter dated 17 Nov to the National Defense Minister to request the deputy-prime minister and defense minister to conduct an investigation in order to stop the use of the 92 and 93 Air Defense troop base located in Chres village, Phnom Penh Thmei commune, Russei Keo district, Phnom Penh city, as a gambling parlor.

In his letter, Son Chhay said the authorization to allow the use of an Air Force base as a gambling parlor will bring bad reputation to the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF).

There is no reaction yet from Tea Banh, the defense minister.

Is it true that the Cambodian armed forces have a reputation to protect as claimed by the MP?

Ican't blame them because of small salary.
