The dry season officially arrived in Cambodia on Nov 1, officially ending the rainy season that began May 2, the government's chief meteorologist said Monday. "The wind is now blowing steadily from the northeast," said Seth Vannareth, meteorology chief for the Water Resource and Meteorology Ministry. Unlike 2004, when the country was plagued by drought that caused food shortages, this year all provinces received adequate rainfall, Seth Vannareth said. But rain may not be over yet tropical depression Cimaron, making its way through the South China Sea toward Vietnam, will likely bring rain and lower temperatures Wednesday, she said.
