Cambodia to host 3rd Pan-Pacific bowling championship
Cambodia is preparing to host the Third Pan-Pacific Bowling Cup for 12 participating countries from Feb. 24 to 25 in 2007 at the Olympic Stadium in the capital, Meas Sarin, secretary general of the National Olympic Committee told Xinhua on Saturday.
"We are proud that our country hosts the event and this is the first time for us (to host such an event)," he said, adding that Cambodia once hosted the bowling Asian Cup in 1999, but never hosted a Pan-Pacific one.
Japan donated about 8,000 U.S. dollars for preparation of the match, he added.
The Pan-Pacific Bowling Cup was established in 2003 to be held once every two years. Its first match was held in Vong Tauv, Vietnam and the second in Ho Chi Minh City, also Vietnam.
