I would like to comment on "B’bang Villagers Block Attempt To Demolish 100-Year-Old Temple," (Nov 15, page 21). I am sad to hear that Douk Phok is, determined to demolish the temple in order to build a new one, instead of renovating it.
During the Khmer Rouge regime I was displaced to this village, I felt shocked when walking past this pagoda, I saw the blue UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization sign, which had been high on a temple column, laid on the ground like rubbish.
Douk Phok should not repeat the same mistake he made in the 1990s, when under the name of "construction" he turned one old, beautiful, colonial-style building in Battambang Provincial Hospital into a "new" building without any vestiges of the old architecture.
Douk Phok will gain respect if he listens to our compatriots in the countryside and uses remaining funds for other social activities.

Deos Mr. Phok know for sure it can not be renovated? because it happens sometimes. If it's too old, yes it must be removed, but that doesn't mean he has to demolish everything.
I'm 120% with Dr. Hun Chunnly. The old architectures must be saved and by all means must be preserved. It's our existence and our precious past Mr!
Is Phok = mud in Cambodia?
What is wrong with you Mr. Phok?
Phok throwing right into your face is nothing. A hammer hammering down right into your head is what you really need! Sucker!
I am one of the survivors at Sdei village living in Canada now. My house (cabane) in 1976 was right at the back-fense of the pagoda with some other thousands of people deported from Phnom Penh. Let me tell you that the pagoda is very beautiful and solid with a big tall Buddha. I really love this and intend to go back for an emotionnal visit one day in my life time to memorise my 15 years old at that difficult time. I do not understand why this Phok do stupid things like this. I also gave some money to his organisation via people in Canada hoping to help building schools.
Can some one give me his phone number please ? My nick name is Leo

Is this the same as Phok that has not work in his life? If it is the same as Phok, he leaches off the welfare system in Providence, Rhode Islad.
This guy's name is Ban Doeun, alias Ta Phok. He claims he comes from from New Orlean. His credibility is doubtful
to Battambang people.
