Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Friday threatened opponents who might be contemplating a coup, saying they would find themselves arrested and military tanks at their homes.
Speaking from the eastern province of Kampong Cham in a speech broadcast on national radio, Hun Sen warned that the only way to remove him from office would be via the ballot box.
"We cannot tolerate any activity that leads to the breakdown of the nation," Hun Sen said.
"Now I send a message to people who say they want to try to change the government," he said. "If you suggest changing the government you have to be careful."
Hun Sen said rival politicians should ask themselves if they can change the prime minister through elections.
"You can only ask this," he said. "If you use the phrase 'change the government,' it is a very big mistake. Sometimes we can use tanks and send the tank to your home and arrest you at your home. ... Cambodia now is a constitutional monarchy, so if you want [change by force], it means you want to overthrow the throne."
It was the second time in two months that Hun Sen had threatened to use force against opponents whom he believes might be plotting a coup.
Before he made a state visit to Australia last month, he referred to the September 19 coup in neighbouring Thailand and said the same would not be tolerated in Cambodia.
Political analysts said Friday that Hun Sen was possibly referring to disaffected former members of the royalist Funcinpec Party, including its ousted former president Prince Norodom Ranariddh, who has made calls for his father, former king Norodom Sihanouk, to return to politics. Sihanouk has stressed he has absolutely no plans to do so.
On Friday, Hun Sen was visiting areas he had fought in as a foot soldier for the Khmer Rouge against Lon Nol troops in the 1970s. Lon Nol deposed then-prime minister Norodom Sihanouk in a 1970 coup.
Hun Sen also used the occasion to reiterate that Cambodia would not agree to a request by the United States to send troops to Iraq.
"We will not send our forces to Iraq," he said. "Cambodia sends our troops outside only for peacekeeping and for humanitarian tasks, not for fighting."
He said Cambodia would send 30 peacekeepers to East Timor. It also currently has a small team of de-miners operating in Sudan.

The animal like of Hun Sen is proving to the world that Cambodia is a truley democracy Nation. If this Nation is a democracy state, the Prime Minister cannot control the army. This defense portfolio should retain by the minister of Defense and he ( PM) cannot use force to thread anyone. After the election we still can remove the Prime Minister by
1- the challenge of his caucus. If any minister of his administration felt that Hun Sen is not good for his party, that minister can rally all other ministers for a challenge by confidence vote. If the Challenger can rallied more than 50% of the minister to challenge him then, the Prime Minister must confess of defeat and must quite the post.
2-If the parliament have lost the confidence of the Prime Minister and have vote of lost of confidence, The Prime Minister must call for a snap election because the government which have no confidence cannot function it self with lack of supplies of monies.
3-In a democracy Nation, army cannot be used by the Prime Minister to suppress others. This is totally gross violation of human right ( people can talk bad about the Prime Minister for his mediocre leadership.
4-The coup can only refer to military plot to remove an elected leadership like Thailand.
5-If there are people uprising again the Prime Minister and the country become anarchy, the Military leader can call the Prime Minister to resign for the sack of the interest of the Nation.
The recent thread by Hun sen twice for this coup, prove that Hun Sen has committed a grave act again national interest, therefore he use this kind of thread to create fear through the Nation. But in reality, if people stand up like Thailand, he will be removed definitely.

There is nothing wrong being you as a different person. I can appreciate diversity. It adds flavor to the spice of life or a break from our seriousness. I have never seen any country in the west have so many social classes like in Cambodia ( Mini-kingdom). All the blind leaders have divided the Cambodian people into;
-Royal family ( most of them have acted like animal. Stealing wife from others. beating and terrorising their own wife like slave, stealing national monies and assets without shame) etc...
