(Kyodo) - Japanese Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Akira Amari and visiting Cambodian Commerce Minister Cham Prasidh agreed Friday that the two nations will seal a deal to start negotiations on a bilateral investment pact when their leaders meet next month in the Philippines, a Japanese official said.

The accord is designed to attract Japanese investment to Cambodia as part of efforts to restore the economy after the civil war. The two countries began preparatory talks on the pact in September, the official said.
