Overseas Cambodians might be allowed to vote in 2008 (3)
The opposition SRP is proposing an amendment to the current election law so as to allow overseas Cambodians to take part in the forthcoming national elections in 2008. The amendment is modeled on some specific provisions of the Italian election law as implemented for Italy's last general elections in April 2006. It is suggested that Cambodians living in the USA tentatively form a specific constituency represented by five seats at Cambodia's National Assembly. Cambodians in France would have three seats. Canada and Australia would have one seat each. To qualify for a seat, the Cambodian community in any country must comprise at least 20,000 voters. The size of the Cambodian Diaspora is estimated at 600,000 persons worldwide, 400,000 of whom are over 18-year-old. Therefore, overseas Cambodians would be represented by ten Assembly members from four specific constituencies.
Foreign nationals' names deleted from voter lists (1)
After the deletion of 51 names of foreign nationals from the voting list for Chbar Ampeuv II commune in Phnom Penh's Meanchey district earlier this month, 892 similar names were deleted last week from the voting list for Kompong Luong commune in Pursat province's Krokor district, which borders the Tonle Sap Great Lake. In the two communes, the decisions to delete foreigners' names were made unanimously by commune councilors from the three political parties at the request of Khmer villagers. More information is available here.
Sam Rainsy: Cambodia is a false democracy (1)
In his acceptance speech for the Liberal International Prize for Freedom that was given to him in Marrakech (Morocco) on 10 November 2006, opposition leader Sam Rainsy calls Cambodia a "false democracy." He elaborates as follows: "We have the façade of democracy but no democratic substance in our institutions. We have a parliament but it is a rubber-stamp parliament. We have a judiciary but it takes orders from the ruling party, which uses it as a political tool to crack down on opponents. We have elections but they are manipulated elections whose results are decided before Voting Day. We have officially abolished capital punishment but extra-judicial executions take place every day in the street." He concludes by saying that Cambodia is a "mafia state" and a "banana kingdom."

CCHR case: Several ongoing court hearings for plaintiffs (2)
Several plaintiffs who have filed corruption and defamation lawsuits against Cambodian Center for Human Rights president Kem Sokha, are being heard this month by the judge. Some of the plaintiffs, who are former CCHR employees, have accused Kem Sokha of stealing their salaries, while others have accused him of embezzlement. Kem Sokha avoids answering questions from his former colleagues and accuses them of wanting to destroy the CCHR and to ruin his career.

Photo: Sam Rainsy is holding toy he just got.
People with dual citizen should not be allowed to stand as candidate for the general election of member of Cambodian Parliament as to ensure Cambodian will have full commitment from their elected representative.
Yeh! If it is a toy let see if it hurt when drop on your head!ahahah.
10:27 AM,
believe me man!!, this toy can make come off. try fucking this toy!! you never regret.

Good point man! how many citizen do you think Som'ach ops... I mean Somdech Hun Sen has?
In reality, in Cambodia now all national institutions are all completely been death since Hun Sen has controled every thing from, National Assebly, senate, Army, police, School, hospital etc... and etc... and even every walk of lives are being controled by Hun Sen eg TV, Karaoke, shop, business etc..
Each National Institution is recognised as a true National Institution unless each of them is
-Neutral
-Credibility
-Reliability.
But it seem now none of them are qualified for these valuations. They are all influenced by Hun Sen or can be bullied by Hun Sen at any time even the Royal Palace, Oppostion party etc....
For the problem of Cambodian dual citizen to be able to vote for Cambodia, is depending to how smart people inside the country. If they are so idiot, thinking of their own interest, that is their choice. Cambodian in overseas can only support for CAmbodia development and improvement through their lives experience in overseas. Without involving Cambodian politic, Cambodian in overseas have enough happiness and prosperous lives in their host country. I cannot see any single Cambodian overseas has to beg in the street for their daily life.

I highly appreciate you points and the way you write,
i.e fair, simple,persuasive and powerful.
Sam Rainsy is generally o.k ,but one thing about him that ,i considered stupid ,is he still believe in sihanouk with whom the world regarded as dumb king.
As for cambodians diasporas's voting, i could careless about that.Let cambodians inside cambodia decided theirs own faith. If they like the status quo vote for cpp, if they want change vote for the others. Nobody can help them unless they help themself first.Have the courage my poors oppressed people.
Since it's a "false democracy" and no fairness in the election. Why bother waste all the money on the hype? We all knew ah Saddam Hun Sen will intimidate the voters and manipulate polling for his advantage. He wins at the end!
Use the money to train the Youth for Freedom fighter. You see, when ah Hun threatened -- everyone shut up. There's not going to be any change if everyone is so terrorized and running into the Hole.
There is not about Sam Rainsy that the world didn't know! Sam Rainsy has nothing to hide!
It is AH HUN SEN who is trying to hide behind the ballot box! AH HUN SEN is guarding the ballot box like his own house! Tell me who is going to touch AH HUN SEN's house!
Do you want tanks to run over your ass! I say send a few Cobra helicopterx and burn those tanks like a fire ball!
