It was good that the king visited his second home. It did not look impressed in those pictures. The French had always treated Khmer people badly. If we went back 100 years ago, however, during the conlonial days which they conquered Cambodia for 90 years, the French did not built much for our country. They built one road (hwy 5)from battambang to Phnom Penh and a few high schools and primary schools in the capital. They wanted Cambodian people to be uneducated so they could easily controlled our people. Buddhist temples were the center of learning for most Khmer interlectuals at the time. Thank you to our religion-- Buddhism. " Caram gotama sasanam!". The french had indeed built so many for vietnam-- universities, roads, communications, harbours etc. Not only they had taken many of Khmer artifacts to France for their own benefits, but they gave away our land to vietnam. During the vietnamese occupation in 1980s, they did not support Cambodia to be part of La Francophone. I did not witnessed any Khmer delegate presented at La Francophone meeting in 1980s. Many khmer interlectuals who went to studied in France during 1950s obtained pseudo-eduction were the architects of the Khmer Rouge regime which killed millions of people.
Khmer nhor nhor.
THis man has bring down Cambodian dignity and pride and making himself so low. I cannot belive that Cambodia has so many human class like this. What ever he is ( King or not King ) he is a human being. We just shake his hands that is enough. I wonder why foreigner do not like Cambodia culture because it make other party like a monky !!!!
It look awfull in this picture. What a monky showing khmer funny culture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys are really either retarded or have nothing better to do than blaming people who are actually better than you are. For god's sake, if you don't wanna kneel before the king he won't jump at you and eat your brain. It's your choice. That guy chose to greet the king the traditional way because he thought it appropriate. if you don't agree, the next time you meet the king just shake his hands. Make sure you're not high next time you post a comment.
Foreigners do not like Cambodian Culture! I do not like Foreigner cultures either!
