The personal advisor to Prince Ranariddh, who is in charge of information and foreign affairs, told RFA today that the Prince’s party has officially received the recognition from the Ministry of Information (MoI) as of today.
Ok Socheat told RFA that: “I am informing you that today, at 5:00 PM, the Norodom Ranariddh Party has received the letter from the MoI, signed by H.E. Sar Kheng. This means that the Norodom Ranariddh Party is now a legal party.”
Before the confirmation given by Ok Socheat, vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Kheng told RFA that he agreed to the request to form the party at 5:00 PM yesterday.
When asked why the MoI did not immediately agree to the earlier request made by the prince to form his new party bearing the same name, Sar Kheng said that the MoI could not immediately agree to the request because the name of the prince was used for a party without any paper indicating the prince’s consent to such an action taken by a person other than the prince requesting the formation of the party.

Don't be to proud about new NRN party approval yet. All true Khmers must remember all the time that YUONS Hanoi+Khmer Vietminh ,CPP, Sok An, Hun Sen, Hok Lundy, Sar Kheng are dividing/breaking all Khmer political parties to fight and kill each other for their benefit in swallow the whole of Cambodia soon. Do all of you know how to united, to reverse the intention of YUONS's annexation?

The cpp approved rannarid's party because they want to divide khmer into small groups so they can fight each other. very smart move cpp. rannaridh you are so stupid including all your brothers and sisters. why don't you leave us alone? khmer people are probably well off without you and your family.
this is the great information for me. i think it is good result because Prince is a high capacity in the royal family and people of Cambodia. Although he have some mistakes but he is still better among Cambodian Leader. for his personal life, this is own thing which people in the world away have. Princes Mary is not enough for him. Ahe made him unbearable to her. Most of people never known about that. She is a crezy naggingwoman and miser no beautifull girl can live with her. this is a possible action for prince Ranariddh. it is not bad. he have happiness with his new loving which his enemys want to break because happiness will open people's mind or have feeling better and good idea.
I it is not bad because he have never been a traitor for Cambodia. although he have some mistakes but he should not been forgotten by his country and its people. I remembered his ruling in 1993-1997, he is a good leader who reach the great useful initiatives for this country. He made very surprise deverlopment. the best idea is still in his bright brain and his golden heart. everything was happened, was the political choosy, not his purpose.

This is a idiot prince who has no idea about being a good leader. He led FCP from 58 to 26 seats (-32). In the next election, he will get zero.
Regardless of what his past is, I sincerely support the Prince forming a new rival party. The more opposition, regardless of how small it is, the better. Any fledgling democracy needs opposition.
People who uses the Prince personal life to attack him are either ignorant, uneducated, or thinks he/she is better than everyone else. Look at Bill Clinton. His personal life sucks, because he cheated on his wife, but his role as a leader did not diminish. He is one of the greatest President of all time, leading America into great prosperity. If the Prince focus his energy, he may well become make a difference, even if it might be smaller than before.

People don't be stupid to support him because he has royal blood, if you support royalty, give your allegiance to the King Sihamoni and go help with humanitarian project. Give your loyalty to this person you will regret it.

Don't compare Ranarid with Bill Clinton. Mr. Bill Clinton maybe neglected his personal life, but he did his job. In his capacity as a politician voted for by the people he worked for the people and he did not live elsewhere to serve other then his consituents.

Indeed, in any country, registration of political party is not in the hand of ministry of interieur. This kind of handling show that Cambodia is lacking a lot of law to fight with conflict of interest. Each political party must register with a National commission for the election. This National commission for election must to be a National Institution and this National Institution has to be Neutral, credible and reliable. THis Institution cannot be under the government authority nor under any political party. This National Institution must have been set up by National assembly for the benefit of the country. All members of this Insitution must have been selected by multi parties and from people who were not member of any party.
Sure the Prince made numerous mistakes. And, no, I did not try to compare him with Bill Clinton, just that the scenario of womanizer is similiar. Everyone deserves a second chance, and again, any opposition, regardless of how small, is good especially in a fledgling democracy.
