Prince Norodom Ranariddh, president of the Norodom Ranariddh Party (NRP), had asked, on 24 Nov, human rights organizations to intervene on the threats received by his party members to prevent them to participate in meetings with the prince.
After the meeting with Cambodian human rights organizations, Prince Ranariddh said that his party members who want to participate in meetings with him have been threatened. Therefore, he is asking human rights organization to help his party members as well as his supporters who want to meet him.
Mrs. Pung Chhiv Kek, President of Licadho NGO, said that human rights organizations are always helping in all human rights violations, irrespective of the political party affiliations. She said that her organization will investigate if there is actual report of human rights violation.
Ok Socheat, Prince Ranariddh’s advisor in charge of information, said that the prince met with these organizations to tell them about the threats issued by the authority on NRP members, and preventing them to participate in meetings with the prince. Prince Ranariddh is asking human rights organizations to help arrange for the safety of NRP members so that they can come to listen to his speeches. The threats allegedly occurred in Kompong Thom and Siem Reap provinces.
In order to continue his political activities, Ok Socheat said that Prince Ranariddh will step down from his teaching position in France on Christmas, so that he have enough time to meet with people.

The prince explained to the people that he is a victim of a coup de party, and he is asking people to support the NRP during the upcoming election. The NRP used to be named the Khmer Front Party.

Do you remember what did you say when human rights activists were jailed while you were the president of national assembly? Todyas, you asked for help from human rights activists. Please think and remember what you asked for now and what will you say again in the future. Thanks for cooperation with human rights activists, and hope that this cooperation will last long even you are in power again in the future.
Why this animal Rannarith is looking for human right group to hep his members. Where is Kieng Kheng? What have done earlier thsi year when Hun Sen arrest all human activist? This is a real animal of eight legs.

I still can not believe, in denial and shock, why the ultra-nationalist party of indepedent minded Khmer students would subjugate themselve under this crap.
Those Khmer student really have no mind after all. The ultra-nationalist are always too blind and too stupid anyway. If they weren't, they should stay away from this PIG.
When he was First Prime Minister, and the human rights activists were attacked and threatened, he said to the crowd in a conference that the Prime Minister had to do certain things for the sake of the national security. He basically meant that he had no sympathy for the human rights activists or environmentalists who interfered with his wife's logging business.
When he was ousted in the 1997 coup and the subsequent election, he begged the human rights organisations to help protect his party members from the CPP's threats, which they kindly did for the sake of the plural democracy. When he was back in power as a junior partner in the coalition he attacked the human rights organisations again.
Now, the history is repeating itself. The question is whether the human rights organisations can ever trust and believe him to be a true democrat again. Sam Rainsy fell into his trap once or twice. Now, the nationalist students have just proved once again that they don't learn anything from history.
