The pro-government Cambodian daily Phnom Penh Koh Santepheap online on 16 November carried an unattributed article saying that at a news conference held in Phnom Penh on 13 November, Prince Norodom Ranariddh stated that he would "join Prince Thomico's political party as its president" if he could "not set up his new party." He also said that he would "forsake his Norodom royal family" if there were law "deciding that royal family members should leave the political arena."
However, the article added, on 14 November, the FUNCINPEC [National United Front for an Independent, Neutral, Peaceful, and Cooperative Cambodia] Party's spokesman presented a two-page clarification, in which he said that at the 13 November news conference, Prince Ranariddh "distorted several points."
The article said that regarding Prince Ranariddh's charges that the 18 November FUNCINPEC extraordinary congress was a coup, the spokesman said the purpose of the congress was to "correct the shortcomings" which were "indispensable for the survival of the party." Moreover, everything, including the party motto--Nation, Religion, and King--and Sihanoukism, was preserved. He added that on the contrary, it was Prince Ranariddh himself and his cronies, who wanted to "dissolve FUNCINPEC" and who "secretly" set up a party called "Norodom Ranariddh Party." Additionally, the spokesman further said, the prince's announcement that he would "join the Ronakse Sangkum Cheat Niyum Party [Social Nationalist Front Party] of Prince Thomico, who was "regarded as a republican," more clearly showed that he and his cronies were "republicans."
The article added that elaborating on Prince Ranariddh's claim that the FUNCINPEC Party had been "given "exclusively to him" by former King Norodom Sihanouk, the spokesman said that it was true that the party had been given to him, but the prince "misunderstood and regarded the party as his own property."
Regarding Prince Ranariddh's remarks that he would "not hesitate to give up the royal family to play politics if the law putting royal family members out of the political arena actually came out," the spokesman said, "If one just listens to his remarks, the prince seems to be an ardent patriot, but in truth he is just hooked on power." Moreover, his "vague" comment that he would "give up the Norodom royal surname if he were asked to do so," showed that since he "dared even give up the Norodom royal bloodline, how about FUNCINPEC?" concluded the spokesman.

Cambodian people have been lied by this very desperated animal for almost 13 years in the row. This animal has no intention to come to Cambodia to re-build Cambodia after his father has destroyed through Khmer Rouge regime. This animal has been living in a misery environment for too long in France. He wanted to take any opportunity by using his father name to make a good fortune from Cambodia as soon as he can. Now with all the wealth he got, he just tried to speculate all kind of excuse to fade out from Cambodia. Only a bunch of ignorance and a bunch of animal of his species are still working with this animal. What a shame to Sihanouk dynasty who have all animal like offsprings!!!!
The prince is pluffing. He is not going to give up the title of Norodom. He has made himself rich because of the name, and now he is coming back to collect all his assets and butt out. He is probably showing up his face and hiding one and awhile just to get an attention and to claim that he is just as important as other princes or politicians. This prince is very flip flop!
