Sri Lankan premier arrives in Cambodia on official visit

(Kyodo) - Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wikremanayaka arrived in Cambodia on Wednesday at the invitation of Prime Minister Hun Sen.

During his four-day stay, Wikremanayaka will hold talks with Hun Sen and will pay courtesy calls on Chea Sim, acting head of state, and Heng Samrin, president of the National Assembly, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Government sources said a key topic in talks with Hun Sen will be the prevention of possible smuggling of weapons to Sri Lanka's Tamil rebels.

Late last year, Hun Sen said Cambodia used to be a supplier of weapons to militants in several Asian nations including Sri Lanka, the Philippines and Myanmar.
