Conference unveils Vietnam-Cambodia supplementary border treaty

A treaty on border delimitation signed last year between Vietnam and Cambodia to complete demarcation and planting of markers by late 2008 was unveiled at a conference held in Hanoi Thursday.

Organized by the Communist Party’s Commission for Ideology and Culture, the conference focused on the Supplementary Treaty to the 1985 Vietnam-Cambodia Treaty on Border Delimitation.

The treaty creates a legal foundation for a definite and sustainable resolution of border issues between the two nations, and helps boost peace, cooperation, and friendship between them.

Since ratification of the 1985 treaty more than 200 km of the 1,137 km long border have been demarcated, and 72 of the planned 322 markers installed.

A joint committee on border delimitation of has agreed to replace all the current markers with newly-designed ones.

This ratification of the 1985 border treaty will make Mr.Hun Sen as a slave to the Youn and it's so cheap in our Khmers' history.

Ex king Sihanouk was cheated by Ho Chi minh and now Hun Sen is being tricked again by Dung.

I believe all Khmers in every generation won't ever forget about this issue.
