Cambodia's parliament has stripped former royalist party leader Prince Norodom Ranariddh of his legislative seat.

National Assembly officials announced Tuesday that Norodom Ranariddh was expelled because he had been removed from his post in the royalist party.

FUNCINPEC leaders fired the prince in October, complaining that he spent more time outside the country than tending to his duties at home.

Norodom Ranariddh has also been plagued by allegations of corruption and had only mediocre success in managing FUNCINPEC's relationship with its coalition partner, the ruling Cambodian People's Party.

Hoping for a political comeback, Nordom Ranariddh took over a small, little-known party last month and renamed it after himself. However, that party holds no seat in Cambodia's parliament.

Cambodian must have a law to ban a candidate with having previous problems of corruptions, low morality etc.... In a western country, no way, this animal Rannarith can stay in politic. He will be banned for his life time to enter politic and to work in any public office. His credidential has gone already as well as his leadership quality. Only immature Cambodians are still allowed his to bark in their front door.

USA embassador in Cambodia has said loud and clear that it is up to Cambodia people to decide what kind of Cambodia they want to live in. If they want a Cambodia with bloody idiot Hun sen as leader, then Cambodia need to decide.

I am not surprised. Cambodian National Assembly is not an independant institution.
All government officials and CPP MPs bow and Join their 2 hands like dogs when they talk to Hun Sen.

Different from the Respected King Father, Ranaridh himself is not a good model for Cambodian young generation.

Ranarith, thomico, chakrapong, please remember that, no matter what you try to restore back your old glory , it will never happen. It is your father's faults. Every time, we think about royal family , the name sihanouk ,the khmer rouge , the vietcong, the north vietnam, the red china, the north korea also come up too in our memory if you know what i mean. So just quit.

I regret that Ranariddh doesn't know how to be a good leader of a caountry. He was given a glory chance because of his father's popularity. But he didn't know how to maintain it. People used to say "it's quite easier to win a war than to maintain the power", but I would say "for Ranariddh now, it's very very difficult both to win and to maintain his prestige". He has shown already to public his weakness and immorality to be a leader.
