Letter to the Editor
THE CAMBODIA DAILY
The SRP has proposed that Khmers overseas be given access, under the Constitution, to actively partake in Cambodia's general elections. The party suggested that overseas Cambodians register and vote through embassies in the countries where they are staying.
This is a brilliant idea for the many Cambodians overseas for education and employment.
I would also like to suggest online voting. This would provide those of us outside the motherland with an accessible tool for partaking in Cambodia's political life, as stipulated by Article 35 of the Constitution.
The officials in charge of South Korea's "soft" loan for the development of e-government in Cambodia should, in addition to their existing project, consider my suggestion to develop an online voting system.
