PETALING JAYA (Dec 6, 2006): Former Cambodian national police chief Heng Peo, who is battling repatriation, has been granted a visa and a one-way ticket to Helsinki by the Finnish government.

"I hope the Malaysian government will release my husband so he can go," pleaded a sobbing Ngin Sotheavy, the 38-year-old wife of Heng Peo.

"If my husband is deported to Cambodia, he will be tortured and killed," Sotheavy said in a press conference convened by her at a hotel here today. She was accompanied by her husband's lawyers, N. Sivananthan and Abdul Shukor Ahmad .

Sotheavy came with her 23-year-old daughter, while the remaining five children, aged between two and 25, are now in Singapore.

Sivananthan said they will be writing to Wisma Putra to inform the government about the visa obtained by Heng Peo, adding that the Finnish ambassador here who signed the travel document will do likewise.

In the Kuala Lumpur High Court today, Heng Peo's writ of habeas corpus hearing was postponed to Dec 13, after Sivananthan informed the court about the visa issuance to his client.

Heng Peo, 49, was arrested on Oct 3 in Bandar Sunway for overstaying his visa after entering the country through Singapore.

He has also filed for asylum with the United Nations High Commissoner for Refugees here after his passport was cancelled by the Cambodian government.

Congratulation to Mr. Heng Pov and his family!
However, please remember that what you have today is the effort of Cambodian people who love justice and freedom. Therefore, as soon as you are released by Malaysian Government and arrive in the third country, Finland, please do something that is useful for our beloved country. This is a very good chance to pull down A dog Kvak, its comrades as well as its whole Government, and bring A dog Kvak and it comrades to the court or just torture it before kill it like it used to do to other Cambodian people.
Because of you, we still hope that we justice and democracy must win injustice and dictatorship.
Bravo justice!

Bull shit,Heng Pov is cold-blood killer too. DON'T FORGET THIS

At the end of the apartheid regime in South Africa, those white cold-blooded killer police were brought in front of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission to reveal their past crimes, and any criminal acts of their superiors, to the public. They were not charged with any crimes, but their confessions served as a reminder to any future leadership of South Africa that their criminal acts would not go unnoticed.

A similar Truth Commission could be organised as an international event with Heng Pov as the star confessor to reveal in detail the past crimes committed by those powerful CPP officials. These crimes include the killing of Piset Pilika, March 30 1997 granade attack on peaceful demonstrators, and other unsolved killings of union leaders, democratic and human rights activists.

Let's hope Heng Pov doesn't forget all the support he received from various quarters to ensure his freedom and safety in a third country. In return, he should continue to campaign with other freedom-loving people to bring those leading CPP criminals to justice. He cannot erase his past, but he certainly can take appropriate actions to repay his debts to the country he claimed to love.

It is the time for Heng Pov to prove how much does he love his country, Cambodia.
Say Hun Sen gave a lot of land to Vietnamese? How many thousand more of the Vietnamese troop are still inside Cambodia? Does anyone know who is Hok Langdy guy?

I just don't understand why these Vietnamese don't want to have peace or to leave Cambodia alone?

Cambodian people should fight hard like the Jews. These Vietnamese are no good to be friends.
