Cambodian Minister of Economy and Finance Keat Chhon announces Monday that nearly 30 custom officials along Cambodian-Thai border will be removed from their posts.
Without naming the officials or saying when the removal will take place, the Finance Minister says the officials were involved in the smuggling of luxury vehicles from Thailand into Cambodia.
Opposition lawmaker Keo Remy says he welcomed the move to combat corruption in Cambodia, but he questioned the motive. He wonders if the decision is politically motivated.

They must send to court for prosecution. I worry that that is because they don't pay any corrupted to their boss for these removal.
This is just to fool the public that he is going to fire those custom officails. Kiet Chhon himself is a corrupted minister so is the whole Cambodian government. I think only the lower ranking ones will be fired if any. The high ranking official wil kiss Kiet Chhon' ass and they will stay on the jobs.Ha! Ha!
The CPP has been using this strategy to share Cambodia's riches among themselves. The "stage-managed-dismissed" officials are usually the corrupt ones who have accumulated their wealth through corruption to last till the end of time. Then, they are moved to a less lucrative position, such as senior advisors of senior officials who need a sound advice on making more money out of their positions.
They all are corrupt from top to bottom. But, they need to put up a show from time to time to fool the donor countries that the Cambodian government is seriously tackling the corruption. In fact, they just recycle the same corrupt people.

AH HUN SEN make sure that every Cambodian must commit corruption and so they can't accuse him of corrruption!
