Om Yentieng in Vietnam to beg for support and assistance in the fight against corruption

Corruption is our internal enemy: Deputy PM Trong

VNS

Ha Noi — The Viet Nam Communist Party and Government have defined corruption as its internal enemy, said Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong during a meeting with visiting Cambodian official Om Yintieng.

Advisor to the Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Head of Cambodia’s Anti Corruption Committee Om Yintieng was in the capital yesterday to share experiences on anti-corruption work.

Trong said corruption is a social problem for every nation.

"That’s why fighting corruption must be placed as a top priority," said Trong.

In the fight against corruption, prevention was the most important task, said Trong, which was supported by raising people’s awareness on the law through education and communication activities.

Trong said he hoped the fight against corruption in Cambodia would be successful and that the two countries would share information and experiences to help push back corruption in their respective societies.

Om Yintieng informed Trong of the results of his meetings with various government agencies including the office of the National Steering Committee on Anti-corruption, the Ministry of Public Security, the Government’s Inspection Agency, the Fatherland Front and the Supreme People’s Procuracy.

He asked for support and assistance from the National Steering Committee to help Cambodia fight against corruption.

Why are Cambodian officials so stupid to do things on their own? Why do they have to give Vietnam credibility for everything they know? Or Vietnam is their boss and it is signaling the green light for Cambodia work on certain thing?

Om Yintieng reacted in an exstremly verbal gangster manner in Phnom penh when the international community placed Cambodia on a bottom line of the corruption society in the world.

Now he asked for support and assistance from the Veit (but not from the international communities) to help Cambodia fighting against corrution. What an odd ideal is that Mr?.
Khmers said; Cambodian law against the corrution should be ready by now to be used in this bad to the bone of corruption society.

Om Yuontieng needs support and assistance in Dollars so he does not need to corrupt for himself. I think it is a good idea. If government officials do not have enough to eat then corruption is still prevailing . Therefore, the Royal government should allocate 50% of the national budget for themselves then 50% for state functioning. Royal government can do it openly, people will say nothing because they select government by themselves, if people protest then put them in jail like govenment usually has done before.
If Cambodians want to fight corruption, the anti-committee members should be blind in mind otherwise they still have selective acts to fight against corruption. I do not believe that Om Yuontieng does not know how to fight corruption, but may be he does not know how to fight corruption for those who are not in his affiliation.

Maybe the corruption is rooted among the powerful government entities or individual within the CPP, and that such entities or individual can not be dislogded without first consulting the Vietnamese faction that controlled such entities and individuals within the Cambodian government.

An Example of this can be seen back in the late 80s when some Vietnamese officials who supported Cambodian government officials in their liberalization of a financial perspective were purged and sent to reeducation camps. The Party involved in Cambodia back then was Mr. Sok An among other. As Mr. Sok An and his colleagues were purge in Cambodia, so were their allies in Vietnam.

Mr. Sok An was a powerful figure back then, but after his allies were purged in Vietnam, he survived at the whim of Mr. Hun Sen. In fact, Mr. Hun Sen threw in a bone, in the form of a car, to soothed(sp?) the anger of Mr. Sok An.

Similar move appear to be happening recently...Frequent exchange of visit among top officials of Cambodia and Vietnam seem to suggest a move or multiple move to head off opposition to Mr. Hun Sen's deviation from the party line on corruption. Mr. Hun Sen is covering all basis in order to avoid Mr. Sok An fate.

Does this mean the CPP is serious about dealing with corruption? The answer to this remains to be seen. But it has became increasing hard to ingore the blatant display of absolute power by members of the CPP officials in the case of the many land disputes which took place in Cambodia. Something has to be done or give or the CPP creditibily (sp?), which its never has alot of in the first place, will face some serious challenges in the future...

ahahahahahahhahah!

According to AH OM YENTIENG, the Vietcong know all! Maybe AH OM YENTIENG is right! Cambodian people need to understand that half of Cambodian population are made up of Vietcong colonizer and it is these Vietcong that AH OM YENTIENG need help from the Vietcong master!

There are between 4 to 5 million Viet coloinzer in Cambodia in 2006! These Viet colonizer are taking up more land and natural resource than than previously thought by the outside world and they are back up by the Vietcong government in Hanio and AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave government dare not touch these colonizer and that is the truth!

The scale of corruption and black market and the free flow of goods and services promoted by the Viet colonizer in many way are destroying Cambodian economy because AH HUN SEN don't have the ability to control these Viet colonizer in any way! Please don't tell me that these Viet colonizer obey Cambodian law and they don't even afraid of Cambodian officials or police!!

AH HUN SEN allowed all the Viet colonizer to come in Cambodia in the first place and now he make Cambodia own the fucken Viet colonizer problem!

What is next for Cambodia?

MP Cheam Yeap blamed the NGOs for the delay in the long overdue anti-corruption law, and Om Yentieng went to Vietnam for the anti-corruption support. Is the CPP going seek the Viet support to help coordinate their attacks on NGOs in Cambodia for scrutinising their lame anti-corruption law? Or, is it because Om Yentieng realises that these corrupt high-ranking officials will only obey the Viet commands? If it was the latter then it would explain why the CPP government only listens to Vietnam, and it resists pressure from other free and democratic nations to reform itself.

Realistically, we can forget about making wars with our neighbours for whatever reason. We survive to these days as a country because there are friendly and concerned nations on this planet kindly stepping in to stop us killing each other to self-destruction. If not, our neighbours would have no need to fire a shot, they would only need to settle their peoples on the Khmer land that is already filled with Khmer corpses.

10:40 AM You need to be clear on your comments. What do you mean when you ask, "Do you know most of the custom official are SRP supporter???" Are those custom official recently fired by Ah Kiet Chhon, or do you mean the ones that work throughout Cambodia that are mostly comprised of SRP? Provide us evidence if you can. Or is it assumption?

Anyone in Vietnam who commited crime related to money from one million dong ( less than $100.00 dollars? ) will be received death penalty.
It is very easy to copy this law from Vietnam,if the Cambodia Government has the will to fight corruption.
