Vietnam, Cambodia work to boost cross-border trade
VietNamNet Bridge – A delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of Trade have discussed with representatives from the Cambodian Ministries of Trade, Economy and Finance, and Interior measures to boost trade activities between the two countries' border provinces.
During their working session held on Dec 8, the two sides agreed to issue preferential policies aimed at facilitating trade activities of people and businesses in the border area.
As of Dec 15, Vietnam will permit Cambodian people to carry goods worth up to VND2mil each per day to sell at its border markets and border economic zones.
Cambodia will also create a legal corridor for cross-border trade and import-export activities, thus helping reduce poverty in the common border area.
The two sides discussed unsettled issues in their bilateral trade relationship such as quotas for rice and cigarettes and administrative procedures relating to export and goods transit from Cambodia to Vietnam.
They agreed to increase cooperation in trade and investment promotion and the exchange of experiences in management and organising services supporting border trade activities.
While in Cambodia, the Vietnamese delegation, led by Nguyen Van Diem, Head of the Trade Ministry's Mountainous and Border Trade Department, will hold working sessions with representatives of Svay Rieng, Ta Keo and Cam Pot provinces.

Cambodian people barely have enough rice to eat and the Vietcong are promoting more importation of rice from Cambodia through AH HUN SEN corrupted officials!

I choose to blame your beloved one eye PM because he used his own policy to advance his personally well being while dirt poor Cambodian people continue to live in the same old corrupted system perpetuated by the Vietcong puppet government!
I am no supporter of Hun Sen but you guys need to see reality. In times of bad harvests Cambodia is a rice importer, mostly from Thailand, and Vietnam (makes sense - short distances and all). Last year Cambodia was a net exporter of rice. Vietnam has been a net exporter of rice for some 10 years now. Sometimes Vietnam does purchase Cambodian rice and sells it on world markets. But this happens to Thai rice, Indian rice, and so on, this is the way market currents flow.Maybe it does promote local trade after all? Just a thought.

Just to be fair with all the Cambodian rice farmers and for a very long time HUN SEN government never take step to mordernizing Cambodian rice mill machinery and this problem force Cambodian rice farmers to sell their rice harvest below market price to the Thai and the Viet who have mordern rice mill machinery and packaging system to make more profit over poor Cambodian farmers!
It is time for corrupted HUN SEN government to take control of rice production in Cambodia so that Cambodian rice farmers can get a fair market price! I hope this is not too much to ask!
Of all the khmer leaders, PM Hun Sen stand out to be the smartest. We, all ,knew that he was born in a poor peasant family, and by circomstances had risen to the highest echelon in the government,and managed to stay there for years may be forever who know ?, not only him and his family become super rich and extremely powerful ,all of his croonies are also rich. Now ,he owned the court, the army, the police,the assembly ,you named it ,he owned them all . How can you top that?
Look at stupid sihanouk who was born with privileges , but super dumb, instead of siding with the West he decided to joint the vietcong and ultimately lost everything and become countryless much like the rest of us, and worst of all he got insult everyday,How dumb?...
The dumbest of all is POLPOT. At one point in his life ,he has got the whole country to himself ,but after that he doesn't know what to do with it, he still clad in black pajama with beret on top, and always have scarf (kromar)over his neck ..how stupid.And finally got kicked out..
So if you were PM Hun Sen ,would you say NO to hundreds of thousands of dollars waiting for you at your desk every morning? i thought not, man ! i would grab in a second. Well, well, well that is why PM Hun Sen is the smartest one....

I think PM HUN SEN must do something extremely well in his previous lives , that is why in this life ,he became so powerful and super wealthy. If you don't believe it that mean you don't believe buddha either. If you don't believe buddha , you may end up in hell.
