An RCAF soldier who shot one man dead and injured six others Wednesday when he sprayed a dance party with bullets following a dispute has been arrested, police said Friday. Touch Sok, 27, who was previously identified by his nickname "Chet" was arrested on Thursday evening in Kandal province's Muk Kampoul district, said Chhun Sarom, chief of the provincial serious crime bureau. The suspect has confessed to killing garment factory worker Yin Savorn, 23, following an altercation when they were dancing, Chhun Sarom said. Cambodian Center for Human Rights investigator Keu Lai Seap said the suspect should face trial and must not be released with the payment of financial compensation to his victim's relatives.
