Prime Minister Hun Sen on Saturday reiterated his commitment to cooperating with Funcinpec, and lashed out at politicians who abandon their wives and children in what was likely a renewed attack on Prince Norodom Ranariddh.
"Don't be concerned if you are CPP or Funcinpec, we continue to work to build roads and bridges—we must work together," Hun Sen said in Phnom Penh at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Monivong Bridge.
"Some people...don't realize that if they don't recognize their wives and children, then what about those of us who are not related to them?" Hun Sen said.
Hun Sen's remarks appeared directed at Prince Ranariddh, who is currently embroiled in a legal dispute with his estranged wife, Princess Norodom Marie Ranariddh. The princess is seeking to have him prosecuted under the adultery law.
Norodom Ranariddh Party spokesman Muth Channtha denied that Prince Ranariddh had ever abandoned his family. He added that the country's political leaders should stop focusing on the private lives of opponents and shift their attention to matters of national significance.
NRP attorney Liv Sovanna also said that the Phnom Penh Municipal Court has summoned the prince to court on Jan 5 to be questioned regarding the breach of trust complaint lodged by Funcinpec over the sale of the party's headquarters in the capital.
Muth Channtha, who had said previously that the prince was scheduled to return Dec 29, said Sunday that the prince's return schedule was "flexible."

Ah Kvak dumped his wife he married during Pol Pot regime then he went back to Mi Chrouk Bun samheang whom he first married to. Mi Chrouk got her 1st child by some guy then Ah Kvak accepted her 1st child as his. Rannaridh I heard he too accepted Marie's 1st child as his because he loved Marie too much. Marie was a messed up girl in Paris. Welcome to the strange world. So Rannariddh always slept with the mess up girls, and his mistress today slept with how many men before Rannariddh got her?
