January 17, 2007
Cambodia arrests 3 army generals for involvement in armed robberies

Three army generals were arrested in Phnom Penh on Tuesday for involvement in armed robberies and conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and sent to Battambang province on Wednesday, Sao Sokha, military police commander of Cambodia confirmed to Xinhua by phone.

"We arrested them in Phnom Penh city according to the arrest warrants from Battambang provincial court, so we sent them back to Battambang province today because they committed crimes there ( some 250 kilometers northwest of the capital)," he said.

One-star general Kheang Savorn, 46, two-star general Outh Sakhan, 48, and two-star general Men Saran, 49, were believed to have been involved in "weapon robberies" and conspiracy to commit armed robbery, Sao Sokha said.

Meanwhile, the arrest warrants signed by investigating judge Du Sok Sa Rin from the Battambang provincial court also confirmed that the court accused the three generals of being involved in 18 gun robberies since 2005.

Details of the accusation has been disclosed yet.

If found guilty of such crimes, they will face 25 years of imprisonment.

The first general belongs to the opposition Sam Rainsy Party, while the other two are supporters of the co-ruling Funcinpec Party.

Cambodia currently has 619 generals nationwide.

The Chinese dirty political media is trying to sway Cambodian people about SRP.

I would congrats them if it is not political but it smells like might be one. Because I don't trust this HUN SEN/CPP gov't running gods. Wait and see what prooves they have in court.

Cambodia army does not need all those generals. They were installed for bribery monies to keep them in power. That the law of jungle! The big and vicious wins.

NO cpp generals had been arrested yet. When they were arrested for smuggling or drugs, then their boss will come out and say hay this is my man, release him and promote him more stars for doing a good job for me.

He, he

This is CPP Inc.

Agree, I too tent to think that we
overstaff in some area. I am still
pulling my hair out on why we have
over 120 palementarians for a tiny
country. And the bad part of it,
we constantly run in to a deadlock
in the parliament, LOL. what is a
waste of taxpayer moneys.
But we have done some reform with
advisors last years. I am sure
you've seen some of the news on
that. The bottom line is everyone
is on the learning curve here.
So I do anticipate a bumpy ride
our of poverty, to be realistic.

Are generals from CPP so clean??? Who are more powerful and more dare to do dirty things among arm force??? Refer to Heng Peo's records.

It's just a second purge after Heng Peo. A lecture for Nhik Bun Chhay as well. Ummm, N.B Chhay must know that Hun Sen is not happy to see all your Funcinpec generals or officials though his mouth seems be. It's what Hun Sen is trying to guarranttee his power. Hun Sen would sleep better when all arm force is under his own hands. Haaass, I hope the next ones does not include Nhik Bun Chhay.

Post1:43, I don't know the
detail on the allegation of the
drug suggling, but IF is were
true, they should be arrested.
But here, you are living in a
textbook. On the other hand,
in the real worl, you will find
imperfection everywhere.

Now if you ask me, if I care
about one or two case that have
been overlook, my answer is no
because I am only concern with
bigger case. Such as how to get
jobs for 2 millions people.
Don't think this is a small issue.
Those people have been waiting
for decades for jobs. Some of them
is out begging in Psa Tmey and
elsewhere as we all know. Some
of them might suffered disease
from malnutrition as we speak.
It kill me sometime to see
our politicians are not putting
these people on top of their
list because they put power above
people in their book. Isn't that
pathetic?

Post 1;57, if you look for
perfection, just take a sip
of cyanide and verything will
be perfect, no pain, no disease,
no suffering, no corruption,...
LOL.

To the first comment!!
Are you sure that it's a good law like that?? You need to learn more deeper Hun Sen's tactic in gaining power and guarranttee his safety in power.

Is it not strange for you to see those people, who have never been known of any story, are revealed as robbers while those like Hok Lundy, Soa Sokha, Mong Riththy, Dom Hak...and co. who were full of scandal on drug trafficking, corrpution and killing have never been revealed of anything?

Please, did you read my post1:59?
I don't care about who got power
at this moment. I put people first
and power last, not vice-Versa
like the other smogs.

Once we get all the people off the
street, than we can fight for power like everyone else. You
know what I mean?

Continuation:

Okay, the allegation of political
killing, IF it were true is because
they are struggle for power.

Had they waited and take care of
the needy first that would never
happen. Get it?

Wow, 2:18!! congratulation if your real heart is for people first. I hope you don't lie yourself, it's ok to lie me but not yourself cos god may know and do something if your action is different. If there are person like you in this government, 13 years after 1993, there would not be land grabbing and widespread corruption in this government anymore.

Nothing is perfect but it should not be too bias to one part. Why does Heng Peo have many things on these leaders' scandals?

Dear KI, It is undoubtly to allow people to make their comments on your article are the best way;
-Some article are not a story nor an information but an opinion written by individual out from their mind but full of misleadings ideas. Therefore, some comments to correct these articles are very necessary to disclose the misleadings. Example, many articles saying that Cambodians leaders of the KR were ordered by China to kill their own people !!!! They are all misleadings and they can only tell the ignorances.
-Some information needs more information from audience who knew more about that informations, so that the information will get more lead toward the reality.
Thanks

Thanks for the question post2:35.
Frankly as I say earlier I am for
people first, not like those who
put power first and people last,
I don't give a damn what happened
to them. I really believe they
are evil and they deserved whatever
comming to them. call me "cold
blooded" if you want, but I stance
my position.

If you were talking about the
coup93, I don't care who win or
lose here, but it is not the right
thing to do. In that time, they
all supposed to work for the people
not for themself.

Do you think khmer's coup is bad?

What you think about the Thai's
coup?

I see struggle for power as a
common denominator.

as for theHeng Pov's case. I have
read his allegations, but I found
it not credible due to several
in consistencies and several self-
contradictions. One of the think
that I still remember was that he
claimed to warn opposition that
some bad thing was goin to happen,
but no opposition confirm his
allegation. I can't tell you the
others because it faded from my
memory.

Continuation:

Question: Heng Pov claimed to have
a voice recording to prove his
allegations. I never heard it.
Have anyone heard it? If so,
can you share it with us?

Hi 2:59 Am
You said "as for theHeng Pov's case. I have read his allegations, but I found it not credible due to several in consistencies and several self-contradictions. One of the think that I still remember was that he claimed to warn opposition that some bad thing was goin to happen, but no opposition confirm his allegation. I can't tell you the others because it faded from my memory."

me28: My opion is that, I believed Heng Pov told the true. To say because the opposition did not confirm the warning made by Heng Pov, therefore you disqualified his testimony, I don't by it.

How could you expect the opposition to admit if Hun Sen and the Viet agents have all power to kill/jail everyone?
They rule all over Cambodia and they can kill anyone as they pleased. Even the Viet agents and Hun Sen knew it was true, but if they wanted to arrest the opposition they could any time, just that they are afraid the foreign donors and investers will run away faster from Cambodia.

These days AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave is promoting all these Cambodian army generals to 3 stars, 4 stars, and even 5 stars as long as they show some loyalty toward him!!!Oh well! Since AH HUN SEN Vietcong can't afford to pay them and why not give all these Cambodian army generals more star on their shoulder!!!!ahahahahhah
It is unheard of when a 3 stars Cambodian general committed robbery! This is ridiculous!

I often look into the night sky and see all those stars above in heaven and I wish that Cambodia will be great again! Cambodia can enjoy the peace and prosperity and united once more!!!!

Anonymous said...

me28, I did not disqualified his
allegations based on just one
thing.

Your excuses for oppostions affraid
to come forth to confirm and
support Heng Pov's testimonies is
rediculous. Opossition and NGOs,
has offices around the world. The
could confirmed the allegations
from any part of the world and
they will be 100% safe.

Among other things, Heng Pos's
stated to have many hard evidences
against the government, but til
now, I haven't seen shits.

Accordingly, Heng Pov is guilty
of all Charges by the government.

You think his innocent because you
have been brainwaswed by the KK
leftwinger extrimists here, and now
you have become one of their troll
who bear the "Khmer Government is
Evil" ideology.

Oh, get a life, post1:30. Who the
hell will want to promote anyone
who is disloyal and traitor?

Anonymous said...

5:52 PM.
It is your own opinion.
But the facts are hiden with those who were in action. Just because you don't see all the evidence of Heng Pov that does not mean you can make an absolute conclusion that Heng Pov is guilty as charged. Since the Yuan and Hun Sen have money and power sure they got Heng Pov.

Let assume I am an opposition, would I be so stupid to admit that Heng Pov warned me and my group while Heng Pov has not yet left to Finland? You must be kidding playing with the thugs of Hun Sen & Nguyen Van Son aka Hoc Langdy.

About KK, I can see you have so much hatred toward these people. You must have had your reasons to hate and that reason is hidden in yours. Do I need to force you to tell the public that you are Yuan/Khmer or Khmer of ethnic Yuan? No, I don't care who you are, it is your opinion that I am engaging and conversing with. Besides I am not KK; and if I am, I am not afraid to tell the public.
On 2nd thought I encourage KK to continue to fight for their freedom and their own homeland.

There are tricks of communists in Cambodia ( CPP Party ) before general elections.

This is the habits of communists

There are tricks of the communist

I think 1:11 AM means to say Hun Sen is still communist.
