Cambodia along with 12 other countries has started its two-day regional conference to form an anti-corruption network.
The Anti-Corruption Network is a forum where all parties interested in reducing corruption can exchange information about anti-corruption programmes as well as collaborate on regional initiatives.
This network is believed to have great power to investigate corruption throughout the different public sectors in Cambodia. It is reported that Cambodia loses anywhere between $300-500 millions annually to corruption.
State Secretary and Minister of Parliamentarian Men Sam An tells VOA Khmer that the Cambodian government will push for the passage of anti-corruption law into effect, sometime this year.
In 2006, a prominent anti-corruption watchdog found Cambodia to be the second most corrupt country in Asia, and ranked the country at 151 out of 163 corrupt nations.
