Cambodia's ruling CPP still supports King Sihamoni: PM

January 25, 2007

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has said leaders of the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) still support, love, and respect the present king Norodom Sihamoni, local media reported on Thursday.

CPP leaders support Sihamoni because he was named by the authoritative nine-member throne council, Hun Sen said on Wednesday on the 11th Government-Private Sector Forum at the Council for Development of Cambodia, which is joined by foreign diplomats, high ranking government officials and leaders of international organizations.

"So King Sihamoni is popular and clean and he also has the suitable ability for this position,"he was quoted by the Cambodia Daily as saying.

"The CPP does not have royal family members but it is the party which is protecting the monarchy and the throne,"he added.

Hun Sen accused Funcinpec party lawmaker Khek Vandy of telling King Sihamoni the CPP leaders were unhappy with him for listening to his father, retired King Norodom Sihanouk, the paper said.

Sihamoni was named by the throne council to become King of Cambodia after his father abdicated in 2004.

We accept and respect the present King and also His future successor, Norodom or Sisowath. Why many people like to discredite the Sisowath line? Both Norodom and Sisowath were sons of Ang Duong. Please give a good example of Unity to Cambodian people.

Post4:16. I am one of the many who
condemn the "backstabing your own
family" evil principle of the
SISOWATT, not to mention their
"Use people against people to
settle nonsense dispute" or
"Hire Foreign to slaughter people
to get everything your ways"
principles.

We have seen what these evil
principles have done to recent
Cambodia, and we have seen
what it had done to Cambodia
throughout history.

Who in their right mind would
want to preserve such evil
principles and risk losing what
we have left.

How much more blood needed to be
spill before we realized that
evil principles has no place in
Cambodia.

Does that answered your question?
