IRI: Kem Sokha is not involved in corruption

The result of the investigation conducted by IRI, one of the main funding source for the Cambodian Center for Human Rights (CCHR), revealed that CCHR was not involved in the corruption as it was accused.

Lazar Antonic, IRI director for Cambodia, said that there is no proof showing that Kem Sokha was involved in these problems following the recent investigation by US auditors. He said that IRI is continuing its cooperation with CCHR.

Lazar Antonic said: “We believe that CCHR is an important organization which brings hope to Cambodia, and we will continue to cooperate even more closely.”

Kem Sokha, CCHR President, was sued by 16 former employees in 2006. He was accused of corruption and embezzlement of CCHR funds through a scheme in which there was no transparency in the disbursement of salaries, and thus the pay stubs and signatures can be forged. This lawsuit led the IRI, CCHR donor, to form a special team for investigation for two weeks.

Dr. Chhim Phal Vorun, former CCHR director of the education program, and one of the author of the lawsuit, still does not accept the result of the IRI’s investigation: “The audit cannot find the trick used in the corruption, in this matter, each country leader know the issue very well, it’s not just for organization, to look for the corruption, the audit is not the right method, investigation is needed.”

Kem Sokha is pleased with the result of the investigation which shows that he is clean, and according to the law, he can countersue back those who accused him, for defamation. Kem Sokha said the IRI result will be provided to the court for further evaluation [of the lawsuit against him].

By now the line should be drawn BETWEEN the CPP one on side ,and the united SRP,NRP,THOMICO, and the rest on the other ,and see who will win the next election. If the latter one keep creating party and divided among themselve, they are not going to win anything. Why CAN'T all THESE DUMB ASS ,BRAINLESS, MENTALLY RETARD figure it out. They are all should be kick in the head 10 time and count as 1 ....

Nah...it's not surprise at all. IRI prefers to be silent rather than revealing K.Sokha's corruption. This would not open the gate for Hun Sen to launch attacks to both IRI and KSokha's organisation. There must be at least a reason, if not many, why those 16 former members had filed a number lawsuits against him because of his nepotism and financial mismanagement.

The more Kem intends to open a political party, the more IRI happier, as they could get Kem out of the hook. If Kem were out of CCHR, nobody is happier than IRI who would find Kem's immediate replacement.

You are right, as Kemp Soka is about to leave his post, He was given an opportunity to start a new career.

If he is a clean man, why did he refuse not to answers some of the court questions.

If somehow Kem sokka to win a seat in parliament, we will have another greedy/corrupt politician.

Hey guys! I think you should stop drawing wages among us. First the accuse and the investigation is done. Still not satisfied/more accuses? The CPP would not even give that a chance. Let move on for something more pressing.

Let's move on and find ways to solve the million problems in Cambodia created by those who are in power.

I know it is not fair for some of us at least not fair for me to carry this great burden, but what can we all do? It is "life", and we all have to live with it. I have never been in Cambodia, of course but my body has half of Khmer blood, so I know my duty. Am I supposed to be happy for having most everything in my life? I should but I am not, because my half Khmer blood is telling me that my people are sufferings and they are still living in poverty with disease HIV, young girls being sold...in Cambodia the poorest country in the world.

Yes each of our views will help us to enreach the understanding between us Kaun Khmers, but

Remember "UNITY" is a Mighty Force.

I still keep pledging for Kem Sokha and Sam Rainsy to work together for the sake of Cambodia and for our innocence poor people.

We Khmers must stop fighting with each other, but we must Unite to defeat our enemy and to rebuild our father/motherland that our ancestors left it for us to take care. Remember we cannot win the Rat race if we are still RAT. Rainsy, Kem Sokha...us/me all are RAT. Hun Sen et al. are not just "RAT", they are sick rotten rat.

Kem Sokha and Rainsy should open the door for Kaun Khmers new generation especially from the USA to join.

3:17 I support your idea about uniting the SRP, Kem Sokha, or Mam Sonangdo. SRP must understand its weakness for being unable to work together as uniting force of demoncracy with Sonangdo Kem Sokha. This is going to be a big loss for them. Cambodians will still be hopeless for years to come if the major opponents cannot lead.

SRP needs to put personal issues aside and utilize the new generation of Khmer patriotic volunteers to help what is best for the people and our beloved motherland.

Everybody knows that in Cambodia, a large portion of international aid (some $600 million per year) is misused and diverted into private pockets because of government corruption. No audit from donor countries has ever exposed corruption and no serious anti-graft measure has ever been implemented because, otherwise, donor representatives in Cambodia would be in trouble (stupidity? complacency? complicity?). Most of those representatives prefer to turn a blind eye to "Cambodians' internal affairs" once donors' money has been disbursed. For good things as well as bad things, there is the "Cambodian way", including tricks to indulge in corruption that foreigners are apparently not interested in.

What is a bunch of idiots?

Whenever we get 1$ of aid from the
corrupted international community,
more than 50% is spend on their
corrupted experts.

As for Kem Sokha, how can the IRI
find its baby corrupted? No parent,
that I know off will admitted that
their kids are criminals, but
prisons everywhere are full of
criminals.

So, some people still think that they are smarter and better than the donor. aid from international community has been used by corrupted people in the government, but remember, the US DOES NOT provide any aid to Cambodian government obviously because the US government does not provide aid to corrupted people. They provide aid to Mr. Kem Sokha because he's not corrupted.

Why does Mr. Kem Sokha has to answer those questions by Cambodian court? Cambodian court is obviously not independent. Whoever uses Cambodian court as a tool to accuse someone is obviously working for bad people. And those who believe that Mr. Kem Sokha should have answered any questions by these bad people in order to prove that he's innocent are the one who should definitely be kicked on their head by Vietnamese 10 times but count as once and repeat every 6 times. (sorry that I'm being too honest)

Listen up you retard: There are
hundreds of millions of dollars
that is unaccounted for in the US
everyday.

The Katrina Fund's corruption alone
make the UN oil for food program's
corruption looks like a grain of
rice in a hay stack.

And you say Kem Sokha is not
Corrupted? Get on your space ship
and go back to your planet, you
piece of shit?

I bet you just want to say that Kem Sokha is corrupted no matter if there isn't any evidence.

Comment 4:39am and I are from here, the logical world. We need not to be told to go anywhere. Only those who live in Rainsy's world, the world of blindness, need to go back to their planet. Don't get me wrong. I mean, if you support Sam Rainsy, and you can see what is right and what is wrong not only by listening to Sam Rainsy and KI, then you're living in a logical world. You need not to go anywhere. Only those who always accuse others and think that only Sam Rainsy is good need to get their ass back to the planet of blindness.

Those who still think that Mr. Kem Sokha is corrupted after all have been proved that he's not... these people dont understand how common sense works. comment 6:09am, you need to take a logical reasoning class and study hard in that class. (and again, sorry for being too honest)

Me need to take "logical reasoning"
class? I supposed you also
reccommended Yale or Havard, isn't
that right? Well, eat my shits,
idiot!
