King-Father did not break his promise to stop producing films, it's just that his former collaborators are insisting on producing his movies

Communiqué

Beijing, January 19, 2007

In December 2006, I said and wrote that starting from that month, and until my death, I will stop producing movies.

I have no intention of violating my promise as retired film director.

The producers of the movie: “Excuse me, Madam, I am gay,” which is currently being filmed (January 2007) are: H.E. Ieu Pannakar, CEO of the Khemara Pictures National Film Company, and H.E. Kong Som Ol.

It is true that I wrote the scenario and the script. But the (DVD) movie cited above is not my work.

It will be the same for the upcoming DVD movie: “Phnom Koulen” and “Good Bye, Bokor.” The producers of this film are H.E. Senator Ieu Pannakar (former student of IDHEC, the Institute of Higher Studies in Cinematography in Paris), H.R.H. Samdech Norodom Buppha Devi and H.R.H. Samdech Norodom Sirivudh.

(Signed) Norodom Sihanouk

Excuse me, your highness, why is it
that the title sounds so gay? What
are you trying to teach us, our
children, and our monks?
