Nine rescued at sea after Cambodian ship sinks

HA NOI — Nine crewmembers including a Vietnamese naval pilot on a Cambodian ship, which sank off southern Tien Giang province’s coast, were rescued on January. 10 by Viet Nam’s Centre for Maritime Search and Navigation Rescue.

Cambodia’s Mekong Express Ship was on its way from Sai Gon port to Cambodia. The accident happened in Cua Tieu sea, southern Tien Giang province, on January. 9, as sea water seeped into the ship’s hull.

The rescue force has saved and brought the victims ashore safely.
