Scientists from around the world are descending on a remote village in Cambodia, after a woman emerged from the jungle grunting and acting like a wild animal.

While it's still a mystery how long she'd been living there, Sal Lou, is claiming the woman, Rochon P'ngieng, is his long lost daughter, who's been missing for almost 20 years.

While DNA tests are yet to be carried out, Lou is positive the girl is his long lost daughter because of a familiar scar on her right arm.

After being found on January 13, the woman has regularly attempted to escape her home after removing all her clothes.

Oyadao district police chief Mao San says many questions still surround the disappearance of the 25-year-old.

Investigators believe the woman may be a part of a remote tribe who either became lost or escaped in fear of her life.
