PHNOM PENH, Cambodia
A U.S. navy warship will dock at Cambodia's main sea port next month for the first time in more than three decades, a high-ranking American military commander said Wednesday.

The USS Gary, a guided missile frigate with 200 officers and crew, will arrive at the Sihanoukville port in southwestern Cambodia on Feb. 9 and will stay until Feb. 13, said Adm. Gary Roughead, commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet.

"The purpose of the visit is to bring our navies closer together," Roughead said after meeting with Cambodian Defense Minister Tea Banh. "We believe that it marks a beginning of a strong navy-to-navy relationship with many opportunities for the future."

Tea Banh hailed the planned visit by the USS Gary as "a new era" in military ties between the two countries.

The United States halted military assistance to Cambodia following a 1997 coup in which Hun Sen grabbed full power after ousting his co-premier, Prince Norodom Ranariddh. Hun Sen remains as prime minister.

Roughead is the second top U.S. military official to visit Cambodia in the last six months in the latest move to re-establish military links.

During a visit in July, Adm. William J. Fallon, commander of the U.S. Pacific Command, said the United States could help train Cambodian military and provide it with non-lethal assistance.

I love to see both red dragon and bald eagle enter competition for Cambodia. Be prepared Cambodia to be a chosen another cold war place.
If PM Hun sen stands as he is for next 20 years, he will be playing a role exactly like Ex King used to play.

The US warship will now be close enough to launch a rocket accurately at Toul Krasang as expected by one of the Cambodian politicians.

hun sen will be replaced by someone a sino-khmer, when hun sen finished cleaning up his own khmer rouge brothers/sisters. the deal has been made, hun sen will go but someone will come. he is educated and similar style like thaksin. the deal is not coming from inside cambodia but from outside including hanoi agreed upon.
they put the right person on the job, and hun sen was right to clean up his khmer rouge.
economy is the most important and see who will survive or who will die. the dawn of china, india and venezula (chavez), and economy is a hot topic.

you know why thailand needs xPM thaksin back? it is POLITIC(101) folks. PM thaksin knew the deal to save his country (thailand) from being bankrupted.

now it is a cold war between US and China (china vs. US), and who will rule the world economy. now undestand why china paused by not taking vietnam.

why hun sen wants to stay in power for life? because without power he will be dead, thus the superpower and those who use cambodia as a holy city or pawn will arrange to have him leave under protection and a new leader among cpp (a sino-khmer_ will replace hun sen.) we will have to change fast according to this current situations of the world community. it is not what hun sen wants it is what hanoi wants and what hanoi wants is the deal has already been made with china and us. just watch.

a secret source from inside/outside.

Cold war II? Not even close. the U.S. can crush China without even a blink or raising a gun. All they have to do is cut off China's "ENORMOUS NEED" for oil. The U.S. has the largest oil reserve on the planet. There will be no war folks. In addition, the U.S. has enough nukes to blow up the Earth, the Moon, and Mars.

Nowadays, government do not control the economy. Multi-national corporations do.
