Cambodia and Vietnam expect to discuss their oceanic border issue during Vietnam President's visit in late February, a Cambodian high-ranking official confirmed Tuesday.
King Sihamoni has extended the invitation to President Nguyen Minh Triet to visit Cambodia, mainly to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.
Government spokesman Khieu Kanarith tells VOA Khmer that part of the talks will be about the Brevier Line, an issue of concerns for the Vietnamese.
In other news, Vietnam and Cambodia got closer in border relations after one year of construction. The Dinh Ba Bridge, connecting Dong Thap Province in Viet Nam and Preyveng Province in Cambodia, officially opened last week.
The new bridge is expected to facilitate trade, tourism and cultural ties between the two countries, particularly for Viet Nam’s Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta provinces and eastern communities in Cambodia.

The Khmer people, NGOs and Opposition party must unite this time around to deter ruling gov't from giving away Khmer land.
true. This time. everyone should unite and reject any new agreement unless an extensive research and public awareness of the issues has been educated for both public sides.
Cambodia should not take issues of border lightly because they are our lifeline, our natural resources.
If Sihamoni is not going to disagree next time, even though he can't do nothing anyway, he can still provide moral authority and direction for the public, and Khmer oppositions to the signatures. If he fail to do that, then i see there is no use in a Khmer Monarchy. We should def. go full republic.
Cambodia go republic next time a big issue is not morally rejected by the King. Because being there, he have no purpose, if he can not object. Thus, we do not need him. He cannot protect Sovereignty.

Should Cambodia be independent? if Cambodia is a dependent country, Cambodia should stand on its policy and position. in the pass Cambodia border kept shrinking due to corrupted leaders and coward kings. each reign of cambodian king cambodia had lost thousand square killometres.

I think during the SRN era under Sihanouk, any country that established a diplomatic relation with and had an embassy in the Kingdom of Cambodia, including North Vietnam, had to recognise that Koh Tral was officially NOT a Vietnamese territory and would be subject to future maritime border negotiation.
Realistically, Cambodia won't be able to take Koh Tral back by military means. Especially, when we have the Yuon secret agents here trying to weaken Cambodia from within. France should clear up this mess once and for all.
