The Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI) on Thursday inaugurated a two-day forum to look for growth opportunities, development and shared prosperity for the kingdom.
Through the forum, "CDRI, in partnership with the ANZ Royal Bank, aims to raise awareness on and stimulate debate about key development issues in Cambodia, to facilitate discussion of prospects for Cambodia's future, and highlight the importance of both good government policy-making and the crucial role of the private sector in Cambodia's future development," said a press release.
The forum will generate broader thinking and engagement across the various sectors about how the participants can contribute to ensuring that the growth Cambodia is currently experiencing will continue and deepen, it said.
"The future is in our hands" is the slogan of the forum, which has been the first one of its kind, it added.
Over 10 prominent participants will make speeches at its sessions.
More than 100 key decision makers from the government, the private sector, the research and civil society organizations and the international development community attended the forum entitled "2007 Cambodia Economic Outlook Conference: Opportunities for Growth, Development and Shared Prosperity."
