Major Cambodian players have voiced their support for the idea to hold soccer league matches for the Southeast Asia nations, the Jian Hua Daily reported here on Sunday.
The Southeast Asia soccer teams used to lack chances to compete with each other and such league matches can help them know each other better and maintain their vigor and stamina, they said.
The idea was born seven years ago and has been widely recognized, it reported.
If the idea is realized, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Brunei and Timor-Leste can be contenders of its matches.
