A disconcerting number of accused do not receive fair trials in Cambodia’s courts, a rights group said Friday.

The Center for Social Development—which monitored 1,491 hearings from Phnom Penh Municipal, Kandal Provincial, Appeals and the Supreme courts—said about 55 percent of accused did not receive proper trials from October 2005 to September 2006.

The center made its statements at a launch ceremony for several publications, where it presented its annual report on court monitoring and distributed a “Fair Trial Handbook.”

I DO NoT believe the Khmers will get any fair treatment soon--as long as the CPP is the ruling party. It is a saddened state where one has to pay an officials to hold on to his/her own job. Where the judges are being bought, the Courts are in HunSen's hands. WHERE IS THE DUE PROCESS & THE FAIR TRIALS?

The Freedom Speech is non-existent because ah HunSen passed law to limit what people can protest against him or his party. Ordinary citizens are being frame for someone else crimes.

I have too much to say about CPP can filled up 2 NYC phone books. They are the sympbol of suffering and despaired.
