Recently, a commercial “Company” in Phnom Penh, admitted that it is sending to Malaysia young Khmer women to work there, while maintaining that it is not for prostitution.
If it is not for prostitution, why are they looking for very very young maidens? Among these women, some are only 16 or 17-year-old at most, but they “are able” to “turn themselves into” maidens of … 22-year-old (sic)!!
Does Malaysia need cooks and servants?
The cooking for a Muslim family requires instead a Muslim cook and not a Buddhist one. And, to be a good cook, it requires a woman who had experience as … cook, if not that of “very good chef.”
Servant? Sweeper? It is more logical and more moral to use, in these jobs, older people rather than these young Khmer girls.
Even if it is not about prostitution, we, Khmer people of the “Angkorian” race must be ashamed to export these women, maidens and … men to serve as servants, sweepers, and even cooks … and let alone beggars.
And when I talk about repatriating at my cost, Khmer women who are unhappy and humiliated in Taiwan, they said that Cambodia should first re-establish its consular relations with Taipeh!!!
All excuses are good so that our race is disdained in Taiwan, in Malaysia, in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), in Thailand, in South Korea … under the pretext that the respective people of these developed countries need to use as “subordinate personnel” Khmer men and women, the race the most “degraded” there is in the world, and [they are] born in an “extremely rotten” and “underdeveloped” country!!

That the Khmer race is "the most 'degraded'there is in the world", and the Khmer men and women are "born in an 'arch rotten' and 'under-developed' country" is but the failure of the successive rulers, including the August and Venerated retired King Norodom Sihanouk himself, and governments, including his own as well, of the Khmer people. (Perhaps those who are our young women into prostitutes are among those who were born and brought up in King Sihanouk's Sangkum Reastr Nyum period of 1955-1970)
We should not despair though. Let's see this situation as an opportunity and a challenge for us all.

Let's change the Khmer race into a more virtuous one, and Cambodian society into a more wholesome one, and Cambodia into a more developed country.

Answers: (1) keep all those records-accurately with maps to show and prove; protest; research and publicise in international languages the history of viet encroachments in the past (nam tien stratregy of moving south - who knows about this? -who knows that since the viets' takeover of Champa Cambodia has had problems with them all the times? - I raised this issue at the Paris International Conference in 1989 and met with an uproar from the viet delegation - but who could deny this fact? ; restain our emotion and be rational; show discrimination against the khmer race inside its own country; use word khmer instead of kampuchea or cambodian (in old days: khmer citizenship or nationality - the khmer race is dying!!!! don't keep drinking to its death; Cambodia is being ruled by sons and daughters of khmers, chinese, yuons, chams, siamese, indigneous people - look at the skin and names of politicians, government officials, businessmen, ordinary people - look at my own skin and name LAO Mong Hay and perhaps of other commentators - name change does not change one's race)
(2)think out of the box: (a)look at our army's track record in protecting our territory throughout our history - utter failure? - khmer territory has been shrinking all the times and a lot of resources have been allocated to our army!! (b) think about alternative or complementary strategiess: (i)abolish the land army? - Costa Rica has abolished its army since 1948 and its borders have never been stroner - according to one of its presidents; (ii) keep and reinforce the navy to protect our maritime boarder? (iii) use our own civilian people to stop further encroachments through programnmes of human settlement and development in border regions?;
(3) encourage or demand leaders to visit boarders more often at least for record;
(4) encourage or demand the government to notify all state signatories to the Paris Peace Agreements of boader treaties with maps in support.
Perhaps others can think of better strategies and actions.

You'll learn a few lessons that will help understand our current leadership: Fortune helps the bold, but governing a nation needs more than courage. I am pinning by hopes on younger leaders such as Sam Rainsy, Kem Sokha and Miss Sokun Mealea for instance. They are bold, but lately they are a bit solf.
