On Friday, the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), with 160 million members in 156 countries, appeals for the release of Born Samnang and Sok Sam Oeun and strongly encouraged authorities to reinvestigate the murder case.
The men were convicted for killing Chea Vichea, a former leader of Free Trade Union of Workers of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The World Federation of Trade Unions maintains its headquarters in Prague, Czech Republic but now focuses on organizing regional federations of unions in the Third World.
They campaign against imperialsim, racism, poverty, environmental degradation and exploitation of workers under capitalism.
The Unions appeals followed by highly criticizes judgment by both local and international organizations- calling the Phnom Penh court’s verdict unfair and politically biased.
