A former SRP MP from the Pursat province had started a new political party under the name of the People Power Party (PPP). The party plans to participate in the 2008 general election, after it received the official recognition from the Ministry of Interior on 19 March.
Kan Virak, the former SRP MP from Pursat, said that he left the SRP since 2002 to start a new political party. He said that people who will join and support his party are important people belonging to the SRP and Funcipec party. He indicated that his party will participate in the upcoming 2008 general election.
Kan Virak said: “My party does not have any characteristic that is more special than others, it’s only that I form this party because I have people who used to work with me, and they are former supporters of SRP and Funcinpec, now they don’t know where to go, so we agree to form this party. Secondly, we have the willingness and we believe in ourselves that this party is not formed just for the sake of forming, I am confident that the action of my group has a characteristic which is different from others, in the sense that what we are doing is truly done for the country.”
According to a statement from the Ministry of Information which RFA received on Wednesday, the MoI decided to register the name of the People Power Party among other political parties in the MoI list.

Remember Phillippine (Marcos), Sadam (Iraq), Panama (Noriega), Moloslavic (Yugoslavia), Taksin (Thailand) etc... have collapsed. At least Marcos came to retire in the US. Hun Kwak, his family, and gangs can only escape to china, N. Korea, Cuba, and Vietnam. No other democracy is stupid to let him stay.
