Hun Sen appointed as candidate to run for Cambodia PM in 2008
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said on Thursday that the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) has decided to appoint him as candidate to run for prime minister in the kingdom's general election in 2008.
"CPP decided in 2005 to appoint me as PM candidate for the general election. I am the present PM of Cambodia, and future PM candidate from CPP," Hun Sen said during the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of National Road No. 8.
"I have represented CPP since 1985. Cambodian people have known me well," he said, adding that he led the kingdom into the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Cambodia is now in peace and national reconciliation, with clear national and diplomatic policies, he said.
"CPP has correct and clear policies for Cambodia," he added.
Cambodia currently conducts the commune councils election, which will lay the groundwork for the general election in 2008.
Hun Sen became prime minister in 1998 and has stayed in office since then.

AH HUN SEN even claimed that under his leadership Cambodia is way better off than Pol Pot regime!Duh!

But AH HUN SEN destroyed Cambodia from 1979 to 2007 and still going!!!Well if AH HUN SEN claimed that he was in power since 1985 than he had been destroying Cambodia for the past 22years! What had AH HUN SEN done for Cambodia for the past 22years beside begging international community for money and allowed corruption to kill Cambodia economically? Average Cambodian workers still make $30 a month!

Cambodian people have to understand that, change is very urgent and critical for us:
1. Change leader to free Cambodia from Yuan's dominant influence.
2. Change leader to break out the vein of corrupted officials in current Cambodia government.
3. Change leader to break out the corrupted-family of present Cambodian leaders clan.
4. Change leader if we want to eat our own food better than to wait random of yam yam box or white-clothes from government officials.
5. Change leader in order to have our own road built, school constructed and temple renovated from our own national budget; not from those individuals' cheaters.
6. Change leader, so that Cambodia can experience change in our morder world of globalization, technology and democracy.
7. Change leader, so that our country can experience real human rights respect, decentralization and democracy.
8. Change leader, the life of Cambodian people would be improved from poverty line.
9. Change leader, the people of Cambodia and young people can have sufficient jobs and employments.
10. Change leader, because we have to understand that the same leader can never make our land and country better.
11. Change leader, because we understand that the same leader who has gripped power in hand so long is not different from a dictator.
12. Change leader, because we believe in the potential of our strength, power and knowledge of Cambodian young generation.
13. Change leader, if all Cambodian citizenry want to see their young generation has bright future.
14. Change leader, if all Cambodian citizenry want to see our homeland free from foreign dominance.
15. Change leader if we want to see our homeland has true democracy, human rights respect, good governance, decentralization, stability and prosperity.
Change is very important. For their prosperious country and welfare of their people, all communist countries such as China and Vietnam have tremendously changed their leaders.
So why not Cambodia? Cambodia is democratic country, why we dare not change? Why Hun Sen cannot accept this reality? Hun Sen also want Cambodia to deserve better, so why he refuse to change?
Change only, we can survive!
