Khmers Should Demand Rights For All Khmer Krom, Vietnamese

Thursday, March 1, 2007

Letter to the Editor
The Cambodia Daily

We are disappointed that the Cambodian government has chosen to ignore the plight of Khmer Krom people who have reportedly protested land grabbing by the Vietnamese authorities.

We understand mat the government fears upsetting Vietnam and its relationship with the communist regime, and decides to turn a blind eye to the problem.

However, as fellow Khmers, we should all care for the suffering of our brothers and sisters in Vietnam.

As a democracy, Cambodia is obliged to demand an end to rights abuses not just against the indigenous Khmer Krom but also against all the Vietnamese citizens.

For its part, Vietnam should adhere to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights which it has also signed and ratified.

Under this covenant, Khmer Krom and other Vietnamese people should be able to exercise all their civil and political rights, including the rights to protest for their land.

^ Bravo, enough is enough, Khmers have tolerate to the point of losing so much land...I dont care about the citizens of Vietnam, I only care that my brothers and sisters get equal treatment if not better treatment than the ordinary Vietnamese citizens in the city and countryside who have their land to grow rice. Khmer Krom and those who love their heritage of being Khmer are those I care about.

One true assumption and it is never be wrong is that "Hun Sen government cannot help Khmer Krom because this government and party is not belonging to Khmer people"

What this party and government belong to?

The CPP party belongs to real
Khmer, not fake Khmer like Khmer-
Yuon, Khmer-abroad,... . Does that
answered your question, Khmer-Yuon?

No matter how you try hide your identity, you cannot hide yourself because of what you had said. You are probably too young to know all the holistic facts about Cambodia history, or you are too much of Hunsenist because you are raised by his regime or his is you protege, or you are not even a Khmer after all. But remember that TODAY is not like the past, where suppression, intimidation, imprison, and kiiling can be consealed. Look at Kosovo, former Yougoslavia and Soviet Union. Khmer Krom should be fairely treated and received equal rights and treatment like any other citizen. If not, one day international community will give them idenpendent and freedom because they will find that Khmer Krom are not belong to Vietnam. The force of globalization and economic, trade, and financial globalization that forced Vietnamese to withdrwan its troops out of Cambodia.

I am disapoint that not many Khmer
Krom come out for this issue. Small
group is small problem big group is big problem for Vietnam.
THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM; THOSE WHO
IGNORE THE PROBLEM IS PART OF THE PROBLEM.

Cut the bullshit, Khmer-Yuon is
treated equal to every other
citizen in Vietnam. The problem
is the Khmer Yuon want to be
treated like the rich Khmer Surin,
and that is impossible because
Vietnam is a lot poorer the
Thailand. So they are wasting
everyone time with their
complaints.

Let me tell you strange brother 5:54P.M, I have gone to the culturals' showcases in other country and you know what? We Khmer don't exist in Vietnam's land. They showed other ethnic races like Cham or Chineses in their land, but zero about Khmer Krom.

I asked one of them what happened to KK? They say, they don't know. May be gone to Loas?

It frustrated a hell out of me. I believe that our brothers and sisters are there, but for them not even to acknowledge that we even exist is hurtful and I don't care what you say 5:54p.m. I believe our own people living in South Vietnam. THEY HAD BEEN DENIED EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! AND THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO PROTEST OR DO WHAT EVER THEY CAN DO TO HELP THEM SELF. you just like the rest of the most ignorance govenment inside Camdodia. So enough is enough!

Don't be so selfish, no one has the
right to protest in Vietnam,
period, no Vietnamese, no Cham,
no Chinese.

As for Khmer-Yuon, how can they
possibly know that they are khmer,
after 200 years+ of vietnamese
influences. It is just impossible.

Furthermore, stop connect Khmer
abroad with Khmer people because,
during a war, the Khmer abroad will
not hesitate to slit our throat.
Get it?

some khmer are just sell out. After years and years of constant and preserverence of their own blood brothers trying to connect and call out to them, they again and again refuse to see that these brothers exist. Why? Do we know how this is?
Because these people who say that Khmer doesn't exist anymore in over 200 years of influence even after constant demonstrations and calls from there brother right in there face!

These the people who refuse are the sell out of Khmer identity. Khmer traitor in the heart. Cambodia does need people who are traitor to her children. May all those people roleay pi den day Sovanaphum Khmerak Phumen.

Well, how can we (Khmer) hear you
criminals (Khmer-Yuon) when you've
burned us and our country to the
ground. What you have to do is to
call out to the US or AU for all
your problems, not your enemy
(Khmer). Doen't that make sense?
