Prince Norodom Chakrapong, the acting president of NRP, who left to Bangkok last Sunday, is returning back home. Regarding the demand to pay back the debt his airline company owed to the government, the prince told The Cambodia Daily on Wednesday that he will answer the Phnom Penh municipal court this Friday on the $1.36 million debt. Last week, Prime Minister Hun Sen declared that the government will confiscate the prince’s house if the prince does not pay back the debt he owed in full. After Hun Sen’s declaration, the prince left the country at the end of last week for health reason. Prince Chakrapong is not worried about this problem because he has all the necessary documents. The prince said that he shouldn’t have to pay back this debt because his company went bankrupt. The prince stressed that the debt the government is asking him to pay back is a politically issue.
