Cambodia to host international golf match to attract tourists
Cambodia will host an international golf match to attract foreign tourists later this year, Prime Minister Hun Sen said on National Radio Monday.
"The event will be broadcast on TV worldwide. It will be held in Siem Reap province where the Angkor Wat temple locates," Hun Sen said at an opening ceremony of a new golf course which is invested by Thai businessmen in Pouk district of Siem Reap province.
"This new golf course club will host the event of international golf match later this year," he added.
"I strongly support the event," he said, adding that it will become a rare event in Cambodia.
This international golf match will attract more tourists to visit Angkor Wat temple and it will also benefit the economic development of Cambodia, Hun Sen said.
In 2006, Cambodia received about 1.7 million tourists, generating approximately 250,000 jobs and 1.05 billion U.S. dollars in revenues, according to official statistics.

budgeting between medicine and food
to stay alive.
Anyway, it is true that we are poor
and try to survive. At least we are
doing something about it, not
just give people lipservice like
Sam Rainsy does.

True, but to be more precise, I
think you meant Grigoes' Slaves in
general. Here, in Cambodia, we
don't have much to show off to
anyone.
