On Radio Free Asia Sunday evening, Prince Norodom Ranariddh, who is currently in Malaysia, brought up the possibility of reunifying the royalists, six months after the [Funcinpec] extraordinary congress which saw his demise from Funcinpec presidency. On the same station, Lu Lay Sreng, Funcinpec vice-president, also raised this idea.
However, Funcinpec does not agree with such proposal, it issued a 3-page communiqué which contested this vision. “It is true that Lu Lay Sreng said that the royalists must reunify, but he never proposed to Norodom Ranariddh to lead the party. His proposals only aimed at allowing him (Ranariddh) to re-occupy his position as the historical leader,” which was offered to him during the 18 October extraordinary congress because “the Funcinpec still has feelings for the Prince.”
These are only relative feelings. In fact, Funcinpec, in a seminar held this weekend to set up its strategy, concluded that the prince is a “coward” and is “unfaithful.” In summary, Funcinpec has no intention to negotiate with Prince Ranariddh,” and that if discussions took place, they are only “personal” enterprises.

Here is the problems: Khmer do want independence but lack of leader but right now most of them are sucked into money greeds. This case is especially used with the top officials Cambodian government men so they can oppress the lower class to obey because the are on the top is getting the cash. The Yuons want to suck Cambodia dry just to boost their economy while ah Hun Sen and his crooks receive money for doing business. This one fuck up strategy .
