Kem Sokha, the rights activist jailed last year on defamation charges, is seeking official permission from the Ministry of Interior to launch his Human Rights Party for the 2008 National Election.

His arrest on New Year's Eve, 2005, led to wide-spread censure of the government and gained Kem Sokha notoriety. He was released in early 2006.

Sam Rainsy, leader of the only opposition party with seats in the National Assembly, welcomed the move.

Sam Rainsy has called for a united democratic front to compete as a coalition against the ruling Cambodian People's Party and its government partner, Funcinpec.

The green light will soon turn yellow light and then to red light and what is next for Mr. Kem Sokha?

I am watching every light very carefully before I go knowing that most people don't obey the light anyway!!!!
