Rasmei Kampuchea newspaper
Translated from Khmer by Socheata
Kem Sokha will resign from the Cambodian Center for Human Rights (CCHR) starting 01 May so he can enter the political arena again in order to compete in the 2008 general election.
Kem Sokha told Rasmei Kampuchea in the afternoon of 06 April that: “I will resign from CCHR starting 01 May.” He added that a farewell reception will be organized on 11 April at the CCHR headquarters. Normally, the reception was planned for the end of April, but because of the Cambodian New Year festivities, the date was advanced to 11 April instead.
Kem Sokha will resign from the CCHR to participate in politics again, following several years of absence. He said: “After my resignation, on 01 May, I will send to the Ministry of Interior, a request to form a political party.” He refused to reveal the name of his party saying that, in a few weeks, the name of the party will be known.
Kem Sokha claimed that up to now, the party he is planning to form already receives the support of 200,000 people. He hopes that at his party’s first congress, to be held in July 2007, the number of his party supporters will jump to 500,000 people.
Kem Sokha used to tell people that he would not get back into politics, and that he likes better serving people through activities of the civil society. He explained that, now, he is returning back to politics because the time is ripe. Furthermore, he wants to build a true democratic society.
He claimed that his party will be a truly democratic party with clear auditing, and that he will be the party’s president for 2 mandates only. He said that even though he will be leaving the CCHR, his goal still remains the same: strengthening of democracy, the only difference being the paths adopted to reach there.
Regarding opposition leader Sam Rainsy’s recent call for the formation a large democratic movement, Kem Sokha said that he did not think about this issue yet. What is important to him now, is the successful formation of his political party.
After the departure of Kem Sokha, CCHR will be split into two organizations. Kem Sokha said that he asked CCHR board of directors to nominate Ou Virak as the new CCHR president, and Pa Nguon Tieng as the president of the Voice of Democracy radio. The two entities will work independently of each other.

Good on Mr Sokha, but one thinbg is clear: Your political life was gone several years ago. You have no future.
If you are willing to join other parties you may still have some chance. No kidding.
Sokha, why don't you join and help strengthen the opposition party? I don't understand why you guys, Rainsy, and you can't work together? Don't be too proud. Anyway, go solo as you wish !
HERE is another loser.
Mr Kem Sokha, I think you have made a truly wrong decision. Your political career will be ending after 2008.
You'd better think to join a democratic party if you are a democratic person. Your jump into political career again, if I am not mistaken, you must be bought by the main party to break to the people's vote/voice.
Before it is too late, I want to give a council: join a democratic party then your through-NGO-estabished value will remain. Believe me if you love Cambodia!!!!
joint the CPP for the future of Cambodia. Don't waste ur time by joining monkey party like SRP ! Gonna waste your time and money for nothing !
Lauk Sokha and Lauk Rainsy,
Pls put your own ego aside join together to strengh our liberal forces for Cambodia & its people.
Cambodia is going first before everything else.
You work together, you win,win situation....You separate, you die as you have seen before .
Cheers,
Bun H.Ung
To Mr. Kem Sokha from an old colleague,
You know Prince Norodom Ranariddh and Mr. Sam Rainsy more than anybody else because you worked with them in the 1st mandate. Deep down in your heart, you understand full well the reason why Ranariddh failed miserably and Rainsy has thus far made a turtle pace. But are you man enogh to tell the whole Khmer nation about what you know of these 2 politicians? Why are we insisting on hearing from you? We simply want to test your honesty. Among other things, HONESTY is the most important criterion which will or will not enable you to be a good politician.
From now on, Cambodia doesn't need a Micky mouse politician as the Khmer history has recorded since the fall of Bonteay Longvek to the Thai expansionists. Khmer people need a true leader who is ready to make the ultimate sacrifice for our motherland which has already lost its integrity, sovereignity and independence and our fellow countrymen who have already lost their culture, tradition, civilization, nationality, dignity and their pride as belonging to one of the oldest races on earth.
Well, please think about it. But if for whatever reason, and whether intentionally or not, you ignore this question of ours, our assessment on your case will be as negative as on theirs. We would conclude that you are going to be chucked by Khmer people into the same basket as Norodom Ranariddh and Sam Rainsy have already been in, because you would make not one iota of difference!!!
It is challenged for Khem Sokha:
1. If Khem Sokha allowed Hun Sen to bribe or buy, his personal life and politic career will be exterminated. As you know, any political leaders who are bought by CPP have had only two choices in life: die of life or die of political career. Funcinpec of Mr. Nhirk Bunchai is going to die soon.
2. If you critcize seriously the SRP, it means you get benefits from Hun Sen, but if you are truly getting money or reward from Hun Sen, the communist regime culture has never survived those whome they baught. For example: Ueng Hout, Ton Chai, Ieng Moly, Chak-kra Pung, Rannarith and finally Nhirk Bunchai..etc
But if your political party, Kem Sokha, gravely criticize with no reward from CPP, your party is really chaotic one in Cambodia.
Yeah right, Sokha, you must build
a true Democracy Party because
Sam Rainsy Party is a fake
Democracy, ha ha ha, LOL, ha ha
ha... .
Give it up, guys, you don't have a
prayer in the 2008 Election. Who
in their right mind would want
people who can't work together
to lead Cambodia, just to weaken
it. The CPP is much more united,
and that is what Cambodia needs.
Khem Sokha, if you want to die just create one party and criticize SRP, you can get billions of dollors of national plundering money from Hun Sen.
But remember, Hun Sen's money has demon in there....
Hey, that is not fair. I critize
SRP all the time as we all have
seen here and elsewhere, and I got
zip, zero,.., nada.
Because you criticize the man without the money. Duh. You're being too stupid.
Just take a look at this faking smile, you can tell,it's full of TRICKS.
So you think I should demanded
billions USD from the CPP then,
12:12?
Congratulation Ou Virak for being nominated to head CCHR. From your pal here in the Central Valley, California.
Sure sure, just nominated your
unqualified friends whose tactics
hav fail again and again. When
are you going to give someone else
a chance, huh?
Kem Sokha will not listen to us because he is a spy sent by Hun Sen over 10 years ago. At first to destroy FNLPK (Son San) then Funcipec, but Funcinpec was a good key to slow down Sam Rainsy so he left. He was not able to spy on Sam Rainsy for over 10 years. Now he changed the strategy to fight Sam Rainsy. That's why I say now that he will never try to reach any good negociation with Sam Rainsy and therefore fighting Sam Rainsy till the end of his job. At the mean time Hun Sen will be busy playing golf for the next 10 years with no serious opponant. Hun Sen did not use a lot of bullets to kill his opponant. This is called "THE ART OF WAR" with exellent spy one could win the war without much effort. Look at some ignorant Cambodians who follow Kem Sokha thinking that they are....
Leo
Alright, but why you only have
one opponent (Sam Rainsy) to fight
us (CPP)? He have burned himself
out over the decades, and not
making any significant achievement
for your party. It is time to give
the man a break. You guys are killing the poor soul. Don't you
have anyone else a little more
promosing? I will be dissapointed
if you say "No" because you guys
have been bragging about superior
ovesea education and the nine
yards.
Cambodian people tend to forget that AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave is a dictator!!!As a dictator, AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave tied up everything in Cambodian society and this is the very reason why Sam Rainsy have such a hard time and fighting uphill battle to untie everything in Cambodian society under AH HUN SEN dictator leadership!!!Cambodian people must understand that it is AH HUN SEN who owned the military and the police and many of the corrupted Cambodian politicians who are on his payroll!! This is a mafia style dictatorship...
AH HUN SEN tied up all the media and promoted only his messages to all those uneducated poor Cambodian farmers!
AH HUN SEN tied up at the ballot boxes to promote only the people who would vote for him!
AH HUN SEN tied up the perception of his good work among dirt poor Cambodian farmers by giving them gift to get their vote!
AH HUN SEN tied up all Cambodian economic activities to promote his cronies to steal Cambodian tax money around 500 million dollars a year!!
AH HUN SEN tied up all Cambodian opposition party with intimidation, assissination, and lawsuit!!!
AH HUN SEN kept forgetting that he is a simple human like anyone else and his time will come!!!AH HUN SEN used to say that those Cambodian people who want to be in power will have to wait...Yes! Cambodian people will have to wait and soon or later the time will come..
If AH HUN SEN can wait to collect the money on those land agreement which he sold to the Vietcong for 99 years, Cambodian people can wait and I don't see what is the fuck rush!!!ahahhahahhahah
Ahh ... shut the fuck up. Dictator
is not a novel thing in Cambodia.
Everybody knows it except for you
fake educated people.
kem sokha being bought by Hun Sen
And what you have been bought by
the US, UK, ..., and AU.
