The Cambodian National Assembly on Tuesday started its debate on the Law of Standard of Cambodia, which aims to facilitate the kingdom's import and export of various products.
The kingdom needs the law urgently in order to implement the conditions of the World Trade Organization (WTO), which Cambodia entered in 2004, said Ky Lim Orng, chairwoman of the Committee of Trade, Industry, Mines and Energy at the National Assembly.
This law is expected to help Cambodian products gain high and good qualities, including proper package, and enable the kingdom to compete with other countries, she said.
"This law will also help the Cambodian people have good health care from the imported and exported products," she said.
Under the law, the signs, logos and trademarks of all enterprises will be protected, in order to foster an environment of trust and legality in Cambodia, she added.

Okay, the quickess way to get this
done is to adapt one standard from
the neighboring countries
(preferrably Thai) and tweak it to
fit our need. Don't start from
scratch. It will take forever,
not to mention potential flaws in
new ideas. At least the Thai had
iron out most of the wrinkles in
their standard over the years.
Now what you want to work with World Terrorist Organization and now you want to imply that LAWS? your brian must be fuck up with western bullshit. I don't see you fuck idiot work in the field.
It is a good idea to have the Law of Standard production, which helps Cambodian products getting out into international markets. So far, we export rice, fish, and many more, then we lose our credit. Other countries buy our country's products at cheap price and resell it at a higher price with lebel "MADE IN XXX" (not in Cambodia) or they even sell back to Cambodia; example, "rice", 'Shrimp".
At the mean time, Cambodia should also create a quality control authority which is not corrupted or money-minded (but a quality-minded), otherwise we will loose Cambodian face with the cheat/poor quality products once we export.
What do you think?

Good point, and I agree that
something has to be done. We need
some direct marketing, not middle
man.
I don't believe any cambodian law. Laws are just toilet papers.
You understand why the anti-corruptuion law has been sleeping so long in the drawer. Because the top CPP officials are worried that this law will hurt them. Conflict of interest. king kuk luk thnam Sreng?.
