Some 500 shopkeepers who are victim of the blaze which destroyed 670 stalls in the Pursat central market during the beginning of the week, should hold a demonstration this Friday morning in Phnom Penh, according the shopkeepers themselves.

The shopkeepers intended to travel to the residence of the prime minister in order to present him their demands following the blaze. Most of all, they wish to restart their businesses, as soon as possible, at the same location [they occupied] inside the central market, and not at another site located in the outskirt of Pursat. Furthermore, they demand some compensation, in particular from the company which planned to invest in the market.

Damn, this is does not look like
a good year for us. However, as
with flood disaster that we have
had, we managed to recorver more
than we have lost. I hope the Red
cross and the government can assist
them as much as they can to
minimize the economic impact of
this. It is not just the merchant
who is suffered from the fire, but
also the tuk-tuk drivers who bring
the customers to the market, the
gas merchant, ... etc. Many will
soon to feel the impact.

this is all the fucking reach CCP tatics on forcing people to get the fuck out with out using Police or Military power to drive people out. HE had his men torched the place up so the merchant will automaticaly fled.

Same tatics they used to direct others monks by using brib to have them fight each other. what a fucking lame.

Nothing could more clearly demonstrate that Cambodia has no functioning judicial system than the fact that these shopkeepers feel it necessary to place their demands in front of the Prime Minister as a first, rather than last resort. Congratulations to the foreign advisors of the Ministry of Justice and courts of Cambodia! Good work!

Is that how they do it in the west?
When a shopping area burnt down,
people protest and demonstate to
the Judicial or PM or Prez.
