During the 2007 commune election, the Sam Rainsy Party has seen an increase in the number of seats in Kompong Cham province. The SRP currently has 7 commune chiefs, the largest number in a province. The number of SRP commune councilors increase from 1,346 in 2002 to 2,660 in 2007, i.e. 23.4% of all the available seats. The SRP also saw the number of their commune chief seats more than double: from 13 in 2002 to 28 in 2007. Even though they receive more commune seats, SRP is still unhappy with the election results which were already publicly announced. Mrs. Mu Sochua, SRP Secretary-General, said that her party in not pleased with the official results of the election. She told The Cambodia Daily that this result cannot be accepted because the National Election Committee (NEC) ignored a number of election irregularities. She said that SRP sent in 31 complaints to the NEC, but they were all rejected as the NEC claimed that they lacked proof.

Mr Sam Rainsy
How we can do to recuperate our territory?
I know you will tell us when you win the next election.
But if don't, what will you do? We need you and the patriots such as Mr Sean Pengse to give us ideas.
