Khmer Krom issues will be heard on radio broadcast.
Ang Chanrith, the Director of the Khmer Krom Human Rights Defense organization, recently signed a nine-month contract with the FM 90 radio station – a former Funcinpec radio station, but currently an independent one – for 3 hours of weekly broadcast.
The program will be heard on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 2 to 3:00 PM. Various Khmer Krom issues will be discussed: identity problem, disadvantages encountered by those who settle inside Cambodia and who did not receive the Cambodian citizenship, and thus could not vote or own properties, etc… Round tables including elected officials will also be organized. Following the current contract, the radio broadcast will continue if funding – which is currently provided by the Netherland - can be secured, Ang Chanrith said.
